Please don’t leave a low star review just because you didn’t call or read online ahead of time about how to access the park and therefore could not get in. That’s really doing a disservice to one of the most beautiful places around El Paso and my personal favorite place to spend time outdoors for hiking, climbing, bird watching, pictograph touring, cloud watching, meditating, picnicking, napping, etc 😁 The Texas Parks and Wildlife website has wonderful information to prepare you for a visit. You can also call the park office and speak to somebody very easily. The restrictions are in place to protect the Native American pictographs, as it has been officially designated a Texas State Historical Site. There are low-cost, volunteer led tours almost every day and commercial tour guides can also be hired for any day, length of time, and activity you are interested in. The camp ground is said to be one of the best in the state and the rock climbing is world class. So there’s a reason you can’t just walk right in. Busy season is December thru February so advanced reservations or a going on a tour especially during that time is highly recommended. Enjoy!!

I'm sure for those who make it in it's fantastic but for those unaware because it's not clearly advertised that there are limited numbers allowed onto the rocks at any given time, so you could be driving out for nothing more than a long drive-by. Make sure to arrange in advance & RSVP. Otherwise well marked and staff were super friendly considering.

Great way to spend a Sunday morning. Spent about 3 hours climbing the rock faces. The park offers guided tours and self guided tours. Costs about 6 or 7 bucks a person. Keep in mind they do have a limited number of people they allow into the part per day so the rangers recommended calling and scheduling your spot a week in advance. That being said I did not have a reservation and had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to leave the park. 10/10 a great day. Make sure to wear some sturdy/comfortable shoes and take some...

The handful of times I have gone were mostly enjoyable. The location is beautiful! The history of the place is enchanting! You feel transported to another time, With plenty of the desert beauty to be experienced. Remember to look in the desert not just as it. The attitude of the park rangers seemed unfriendly or reserved. Passionless? So much of the park was restricted it makes you feel unwelcome? The park only allows in 70 people at a time so plan ahead. This place is a gem in the rough but worthy...
