There are two ways up there hill to the parking area. Our navigation took us up to the gardens via an entranced marked as service entrance and it passed what appeared to be some residential/private homes. It was a little cluttered and unkept (the service entrance). For a prettier experience, I'd say got to bottom of hill and go up the public entrance to the parking lot.
Anyhow, there was a lot of parking. We did go during a weekday, so there wasn't any wedding parties at the site. You may want to call ahead to make sure there is no weddings going on before you drive out otherwise you may not be able to go into the chapel during any ceremonies.
The area has plenty of paved walkways which are wide enough for the golf carts used by the groundskeepers. One of the groundskeepers said that they had golfcart rides/tours for 15 dollars or so per person, but we didn't look into that as the chapel was easily accessible.
We didn't explore the rest of the gardens, but if we had, we might have looked into the golf cart option further. We did take pictures by the small waterfall and stream as well as...
Read moreWe paid $15 per adult for the Garvan Woodland Gardens & Anthony Chapel. Everyone loved the Gardens. So beautiful flowers and scenery. After cruising the beautiful Gardens for few hours, we were excited to head to the Chapel, only to find out that it was closed for an event (wedding). We were directed to go around to the other side (front side of the Chapel). When we got there, we saw a guard who was waving his hands to stay away from heading to the entrance. To say the least, we were very disappointed since we weren't told that the Chapel was closed. We felt cheated since we should only have paid $10 if it was closed. $15 would include both the Gardens and the Chapel. We ended up only being able to see the Chapel from few hundred feet away, blocked by trees. So we could rarely see anything. I'm sure the Chapel is beautiful, but the service and the management are just terrible especially we drove 7hours away from Kansas to hot springs to see the best attractions which include the Garden and the Chapel. I hope they will fix...
