Hackberry Park is a wonderful park for a myriad of reasons. It is adjacent to my subdivision, it is quite and aesthetically pleasing, it has water and loads of wildlife and it was created from an abandoned golf course. The City of Houston has done a wonderful thing with this park. There was a time when I thought that flooding was an issue. However, being a retired civil engineering designer, I have come to tha realization that wetlands preservation is part of tha design. Since tha topography is not flat, and tha design was ment to retain rainwater runoff, flooding is just a part of tha natural process. There is something that needs to be done to improve the entrance. There is a crater large enough to swallow a small vehicle. This makes it hazardous to get in and out of tha parking area. Otherwise this is a wonderful facility and a...

The ponds are filthy as other people say and every Monday me and my dad and auger take our dogs out that people fear them of course. Anyways one day walking on the same park my dad came across a snake since we always move out of the way when other dogs come towards us. He killed it with a rock and threw it on the pond. But it could’ve gone wrong if my dad didn’t see it. Also it’s not peaceful when literally kids or teens bring their darn motorcycle out into the park and just driving around. Seriously today there was a teen I assume with its motorcycle and had his cousin or brother on it teaching I assume or just bringing him for fun. They keep doing laps on the park but it startle my dogs and they flinch and pulled me as they came by. It’s not the first time too last time it was a kid with its red motorcycle no...

Really rude park staff. My friends left their cars parked after playing and went to go to the Jack in the box and left their cars parked there cuz the park doesn't close till 7pm apparently. I saw the park attendee walking around giving them tickets at 615pm and then asked him if he planned to lock them in. He said they had 4 minutes to come get their cars because he had better things to do. Glad to know your employees are okay screwing people over so that they can get off early. Very good work ethic represented by Hebert. Hope you had fun while we are stuck waiting on a park ranger to come and open the gate. DO...

This is a nice little park. Lots of open space. Two trails. A playground. A splash pad. They even have an exercise gym, that looks like it is free to use. Unfortunately people don't feel the need to use the trash receptacles that are provided and all the ponds have tons of empty water bottles floating at the edge. I also question the quality of the water because there is no evidence of water birds living near them.

Beautiful park but has not been cared for properly. Ponds look filthy . I feel sorry for the ducks and fish that live and swim in the water . Still great place to come get some steps in if you like to do some walking or running. Good place to bring the kids if you want to tire them . Park has great potential but has fallen short after time . City should really look into maintaining this park .
