7/29/25- I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent visit, as I believe customer service plays a huge role in the overall experience—sometimes even more than the food itself.
I placed a pick-up order for rice and peas with cabbage on 7/28/25. When I arrived, another customer was already waiting at the counter. A staff member was visibly preparing to eat lunch and, despite seeing us both waiting, she did not acknowledge us—not even a simple greeting. She went in and out of the kitchen without saying a word or notifying anyone that customers were out front.
After a few minutes with no assistance, I rang the bell. A male employee came out, took the other customer’s name and payment, and returned to the kitchen with no acknowledgment of my presence. I had to ring the bell again and let him know I was also there for a pick-up order. Only then did he retrieve my food.
Another female staff member came out briefly but also said nothing—no greeting, no help. When I checked my order, it didn’t seem like the portions were right. I asked for a bit more cabbage. The employee relayed the request to the cook, who simply ignored him and went to sit down with another worker. The employee did eventually return with what looked like a single spoonful added to my container.
While I understand that restaurants can be short-staffed or busy, basic customer service—acknowledging customers, being polite, and showing attentiveness—should never be overlooked. There were only two of us in the restaurant, and I counted four employees (one on lunch), so the poor service couldn’t be blamed on a rush or understaffing. Sadly, this is not the first time I’ve had an unpleasant experience here, and it seems to continue regardless of the changing faces—except the cook, who has remained the same.
I truly hope that management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue. The food may be good, but without good customer service, people will stop coming—myself included.
This was my 2nd time going here. The first time I was on a date and I got the LG Oxtail plate with White Rice. My date got the Small Oxtail plate. The Oxtails were a little too tough for my liking. They should have cooked them a bit longer. The plantains were yummy but could of been cooked a bit crispier than softer if you understand what I mean by that. I had to ask for gravy for the rice because it was plain with no taste at all. It was supposed to be Jasmine Rice but it wasn't. The Cabbage was awesome! I only hoped that they had given me more than the little bit that was on my plate. I called in an order for Cabbage on yesterday. She brought it out in the small Styrofoam container and it was packed poorly. You could see some of the cabbage hanging out of the container. I opened the container and I was a bit shocked. It was a very small portion for $5.33. I won't be ordering that separately again. I should have had way more cabbage for that price. They really need to do better. I will come back but I will probably get the Jerk Chicken and I will ask for double cabbage since the portions are small...
Read moreI would love to say that the food and service is great and would love to recommend this place, but I can’t. I went there recently with my wife cause it’s been a very long time since we had Jamaican food. When we went up to the counter to order some food, my wife asked the girl what vegetables were in the vegetable roti. The girl didn’t know and we asked her to find out. She went to the back and after a few minutes returned to say they didn’t have any vegetable roti’s and not the answer to the question she went back there for. So we decided to order the chicken roti and the curry goat roti, along with 3 beef patties. The total came out to $45, which we found weird cause on the website it stated that the chicken roti is $13.75, the curry goat roti is 14.75, and the beef patties are $2.75 each. With tax that doesn’t come out to $45. We paid it anyways and sat down to wait for the food. After a little while another lady came out to tell us that they didn’t have any roti’s, which again we found strange cause this was around 2pm. So we asked for our money back cause we weren’t going to try the beef patties after all that and that’s when we found out that they were charging us $17.95 for the curry goat roti, $16.95 for the chicken roti, and $2.50 a piece for the beef patties. Bottom line is the staff doesn’t know what is in their food or the prices of their food either, let alone have any to serve anyone, given the time of day. It was a very disappointing...
Read moreI’ve never had Caribbean food before, but I wanted to branch out, so I decided to come here due to the good reviews. Upon arrival, I did notice that the restaurant is darker inside, and you have to ring the bell if there’s no one at the front. However, I did order pick-up through DoorDash, and it didn’t take that long for my food to be ready which I appreciate.
♡ Small Oxtails with Rice and Peas. 8/10! I counted about 6 oxtails, and I have to say that it was SO delicious! The meat was so soft, and it fell right off the bone when I was picking at it. I’m picky with my rice, and I think the rice and peas were really delicious too. I also really like the sweet plantains! Overall, I think the portion size was good, and the food is well-balanced and delicious. However, I do wish that there were more gravy along with the oxtails, but that’s only because the sauce is soo good!
♡ Coco Bread. 4/10! It smelled good, and it was soft. However, I do think it had a slightly weird after-taste? Although it is my first time trying out coco bread, so I’m not sure if this taste is normal. Maybe it is just not my cup of tea.
。 ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ 。 FINAL VERDICT: Besides the coco bread, I really enjoyed my meal, and I would come back to try out their other menu options. The jerk chicken and Alfredo look like it could be...
