This was my first time visiting Mike Driscoll Park, and I found it to be a relaxing and peaceful spot. It’s not a huge park, but with a lap measuring about 1 mile, it’s perfect for a light walk or run.

My main purpose was to walk my dogs, and this park was a great choice. Around this time of year, the weather isn’t too chilly, though it gets dark earlier, so by 6 PM, it’s a bit dim with limited lighting. If you don’t want to walk in the dark, it’s something to keep in mind. When I visited, there were barely any people around in the evening, which made it serene. While I usually keep my dogs on a leash, I let them run a bit off-leash when the park was empty, as they are well-trained and responsive. However, the park does require dogs to stay on leashes, so keep that in mind.

The park is well-equipped with conveniences like scattered benches for breaks and dog waste bags at the entrance, which was helpful. There’s also a charming playground near the entrance with swings, slides, and even a small rock climbing structure for kids. Hearing children’s laughter while entering added to the overall happy and welcoming atmosphere.

I arrived around 5 PM and got to enjoy a beautiful sunset through the trees, which was a highlight. Although the park isn’t super green at this time of year, it still feels comforting and quiet—perfect for unwinding. The trail is suitable for walking, running, or biking, making it versatile for different activities.

Overall, I don’t think I’ve fully explored everything this park offers yet, but it’s convenient to where I’m staying and an ideal spot for a quick walk or run, especially with your furry friends. A lovely...

Mike Driscoll Park is a fantastic local gem in Houston, perfect for a variety of outdoor activities. The park features well-maintained walking trails, a playground for children, and plenty of open space for picnics and sports. Visitors appreciate the park’s clean facilities and the peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a morning walk or a casual afternoon with friends and family. While the park might not have extensive amenities, its charm and community feel make it a popular choice for a relaxing day out. However, it’s worth noting that the proximity to a nearby highway can result in some traffic noise, which might detract from the overall tranquility...

This park is great! Its smaller than the other parks around its area, but it has a nice jogging trail with a small playground for kids. I went around 3pm and the park was near empty with 5 to 6 people there at a time. If you want to get a nice social distance jog, come early. This is one of those "whole in a wall" parks that you won't notice until you drive by it. The value may go down as people start discovering it and it gets crowded, but right now its my favorite park to jog. Wish I would have found this peaceful gem a...

Nice little loop to do a run/walk. 1 lap around is approx 1.1-ish, I got 1.17 on a Wed at 2pm. It's a flat loop until you come to the Brays Bayou overflow. There's a small decline that runs into a small incline. The pavement has cracks in it so be mindful as you do your run. Overall it's a nice place and there's a small kids park there too. Note: make sure there's no visible valuables in your vehicle. I read in one review someone had their car broken into at 8am during the week, smh. Be safe and have fun.

Sunset beautiful from east side of 1.13 mile, circular track (hiking/biking). Tree lined on west side of park. Understand Mike Driscoll Park is a flood control "bowl" with a cement spillway on the north side, & a small kiddie park (S.E. corner). Entrance & Exit are on south bound Houston West Center Rd (east of Dairy Ashford) 200 yards north of limited parking under the Westpark Tollway. /// /// Traffic lights at Westpark Tollway Are Complex / Pay Attention. Sorry about compass descriptions.
