Alief-Amity Park is a charming little gem, more of a picnic park than a traditional one, and it’s perfect for gatherings and outdoor relaxation. Though small, it’s incredibly well-designed for hosting picnics and family events.

The park offers plenty of picnic areas, complete with trash cans and water fountains for convenience. A standout feature is the large covered pavilion, equipped with grills, making it an excellent spot for hosting big parties or family barbecues. You’ll also find benches every few feet, often shaded under the trees, providing lots of cozy spots to sit and relax.

The covered basketball court is another highlight. It’s bright, safe, and versatile—ideal not just for basketball but also for workouts like jumping rope or light exercises without disturbing players. When I visited with my dog, the atmosphere was lively, with people playing on the court and others enjoying their workout routines.

The park also has clean and spacious bathrooms, which are a great addition for those hosting picnics or events. However, the parking lot feels a bit tight, especially considering how many picnic spots and party areas the park offers.

We actually like this park. It's pretty big.. they have a big covered basketball court, plenty parking, and a lot of grassy area for soccer or frisby. The first time I went the court was a bit over crowded but other times it's been enough space on the court to play around for a while. I think it's because this court actually still had the goals up.. most parks don't at this time. My bf and I drive 30 minutes since this is the closest park to play basketball right now.. I have been going to Amity for 20 years and it's absolutely the ideal place you'd want to create family memories and traditions. Offering a party pavilion; with bbq pits (has to be rented from park authorities), huge open field space which I've seen multiple futbol games being played, a very popular basketball court, and a small jungle gym for the children.
