Morning Donut and specialty coffee — Restaurant in Houston

Our family is all about supporting family owned businesses and have been supporting this local donut shop since it opened - we anxiously waited for it while it was being built. We will no longer be customers of this place since they have implemented a surcharge for credit card use. There was no sign in the drive thru area mentioning the extra fee nor was it mentioned Our total was well over $10 - the owner said it was for the kids who buy one or two items The tone the owner used to discuss the matter was rude and disrespectful.

I hope that 45 cent surcharge was worth a customer who frequently...

I finally HAD to go in and try this place because I see it all the time over the 5ish yrs that I been just couple blocks from them, but just never stopped in or tried it at all. Got a cinnamon roll around 10am. while the donut did seem fresh enough, it just seemed more like a lackluster, nondescript, bland plain glazed (emphasis on the PLAIN). I was in for quite the incredibly messy experience with every last bite as their glaze flaked and crumbled, shattering all over the place and spreading stickiness everywhere. Certainly not one of the worst I've ever had, but far from good enough to leave me...

Friendly and nice though the donuts were far sweeter than they needed to be and the kolaches appeared to be just Sysco / Ben E. Keith bought and rapid-baked.

The coffee, however, was on point. A bit overpriced, however, very very nice people, great staff, and friendly as can be. I wish the donuts and kolaches were matching the kindness, cleanliness of the place, and nice set-up.

I dropped in on a need to sit and get some work done on the laptop, and was definitely moved by the kindness and speed and friendliness - then the food was not...
