I went twice on the weekends and was told that they are "full" no room for paper or plastic. You would think with such a large property would have more capacity. Last time (2/2/20) I asked when the containers are emptied and was told "Monday and Tuesday," the two days they are closed. This means that this place must fill up quickly Wednesday to Friday, no use loading up your car/van/truck and visiting on the weekends when you have time off. The Westpark Recycling Center (59 & Fountain View) is the best option, even though they close at 5 PM (versus 6 PM) and are closed on Sunday. They never told me, "Sorry, we're full. Please keep all the recycle in your vehicle and try again next week, LOL." The man who greeted me was more interested in chasing me off the property ("move your vehicle," repeating over and over) than explaining that they are not a "real" recycle center but a...
Read moreOmg, ridiculously slow. Letting two cars at a time unload. Opened late, and staff arriving 30 minutes after opening time didn't help. People used to take pride in their job and be grateful for paid employment clearly, not the city staff at this location. Also seem to be overstaffed lots of standing round chatting while the queue is out to the main road and causing a danger. Then to the folks unloading......don't get me started...you are not here for a day out get a move on!!! Be considerate of the people behind you!! If you have a lot to unload, bring help!! Literally watching some dude do one handful of branches at a time then some dude who can't back his own truck up.....if you can't drive a truck don't own one and to those nervous drivers this is not the location for you. You must back up at an angle to dump if you can't...
Read moreI showed up with a 3' x 6' section of metal fence, 2 9' metal fence posts, 2 2' x 8' sheets of plywood, a 3' x 3' table, and a chair. This was in a 6' x 5' x 10' enclosed trailer. I was told that I could not drop.it off because of the enclosed trailer and that I'd need to come back with an open trailer or truck. Seeing as how I don't have either that wasn't an option. Instead they "allowed" me to park the trailer at the entrance and transfer everything to the back of my SUV (which is just as tall as the trailer). I don't understand how at the same time a truck with a 20' open trailer is allowed to unload straight to the dumpsters, but an enclosed trailer creates a problem. Seems that the staff should be able to take into consideration what is in a vehicle before...
