Hudsonville Nature Center has lots of well maintained trails to enjoy this heavily forested property. At many locations, platforms access advantageous views. This property has a lot of ups and downs to provide more challenging hikes. In several places steps and boardwalks help navigate rougher terrain. In some steep spots, the biggest challenge is the loose nature of the ground cover. The areas closest to the Interstate have the inescapable overtones of traffic noise. Read moreHidden Gem: At least for me it was. I have lived within 5.5 miles of the Hudsonville Nature Center for 22+ years until today. Took my dog for a walk there and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be a short course but it kept going on and on. That said, we are not talking the middle of the forest type of place but it is outstanding for it being so close to heavily traveled roads and numerous houses.

Parts of the stairs are falling apart/rotting so be careful, but the boardwalk is wide and long. There is also poison ivy along the trail at parts, but the map gives fair warning and you can avoid it by staying on the trails.
