Hudsonville Nature Center has lots of well maintained trails to enjoy this heavily forested property. At many locations, platforms access advantageous views. This property has a lot of ups and downs to provide more challenging hikes. In several places steps and boardwalks help navigate rougher terrain. In some steep spots, the biggest challenge is the loose nature of the ground cover. The areas closest to the Interstate have the inescapable overtones of traffic noise. In the area further away, road noise is far less. At least one portable toilet at the parking area and dog waste bags at each trailhead. The trail maps within the park vary a little but...

Hidden Gem: At least for me it was. I have lived within 5.5 miles of the Hudsonville Nature Center for 22+ years until today. Took my dog for a walk there and I was pleasantly surprised. There is also poison ivy along the trail at parts, but the map gives fair warning and you can avoid it by staying on the trails. Between the meadow, ravine, river, and woods, this is a great spot to hike, run, or (if you’re feeling really adventurous) mountain bike. Definitely recommend if you’re...
