Our son greatly enjoyed Storytelling Camp this summer. The council is doing a fabulous job offering more opportunities for local folks to experience new music, art and culture. Keep up the good work!

The Art Space is a small gallery, run by the Huntingdon County Arts Council, which spotlights local artists of all sorts. I've actually had some of my work displayed there (during their 2017 December holiday season show and sales event).

They display a wide range of handmade works. Examples include fired clay dishware, polymer clay sculpture, metal sculpture and wirework, fine jewelry, cloth items (everything from scarves to purses to quilts to oven mitts and more), 2D original art and prints in various media, stained glass, upcycled paper crafts, coloring books for all ages... even locally-made maple syrup! They also periodically showcase the works of a single artist for a short while, or multiple artists' work featuring a common theme, such as local history.

If you're interested in the history of Huntingdon County, like supporting artists, or just want to see and/or buy something unique, it's absolutely worth stopping by. Everyone there has been friendly to me, and they can often recommend other local venues to visit, or tell you about upcoming events.

As far as the location itself, it's a one-room building with lots of windows, right near the big post office. There is a small parking lot, but make sure to bring change for the meter - it's a busy area and free parking can be hard to find if you don't want to walk more than a block or two. They do have a restroom, but it's not a "public" one, so I can't guarantee it'll be available if you need it. There's also a water cooler. During some events they may serve free snacks, but these are frequently homemade and donated, so be careful if you have allergies or diet restrictions. (The Wildflower Café nearby has a good allergy- and veg-/vegan-friendly menu.)

The prices are pretty reasonable, and a percentage of sales goes to support the Arts Council - and honestly, you're still getting a bargain compared to many higher-end stores that sell handmade items. $25 for a scarf or a nice pair of earrings is very reasonable, especially when you can say it was handmade by a...

This was my first time in the HCAC new building and it's amazing. The building is a former church, and it has a unique layout that makes it work extremely well for the Art's Council. The extra space for classes, etc. Is an awesome opportunity for HCAC to offer classes and share arts with our community. Great job, to John and everyone else...

A great location for the art center. Plenty of parking next to the building and ample room inside for various events and workshops. I look forward to more arts and education in Huntingdon...
