Been going to this jewel of a park for nearly 40 years. And since then, ive seen this park grow and grow into a magnificent city park. So much of this growth has been in the last 10 years. From a redesigned dog park, new bridge layout by the lake, the city / community horse park and to a new senior community center and Frisbee park, growth has been exponential. In high school, much of the park was just the lake the playground and the nature center. Since then, the area has seen a Renaissance! The the urban forest has been a tiresome endeavor; a labor of love. Now the new mini natur park has multiple trails, separate mini eco areas of interest and room for bikers horses hikers and walkers joggers; even your pets can enjoy the area. Overall, it has around 1 to 2 miles.of trails, many picnic tables and a grand view for photo takers. Couple with other areas of the park, you can easily make it into a 5 mile course. Parking, thats the hard part. There's a small area by Ellis street, around 4 spots safely. I would recommend the golden west side, by dog park, you'll find enough space there. In addition, a nice trail will lead you to the urban forest. Now , for the bikers, please be careful, slow speeds. For horses 🐎, a relaxing stroll. For walkers and runners, you'll enjoy your time. Access for bathrooms, water fountains, and facilities, most located by the main park. Overall, a strong 3.95 to 4 25. Clean place Safe place Multiple uses

Read moreUrban Forest is a community-driven effort, having been an extraordinary success with the natural landscape! HB trees has helped to continue the great work here and further inspire the naturalness of the land. A natural map display, provided by HB trees, has been added and can be seen by the upper park trail entrance! This quiet piece of land is located at the southwest end of Huntington Central Park, just adjacent to the Equestrian Center. It makes a nice walk-thru for local residents, with a trail that connects from the residential area trails south of Ellis Ave. I enjoy time at Huntington Central Park at my leisure. If possible, including the extra walk in the forrest makes my park visit more enjoyable! There’s a small parking area just off Ellis Ave. For those who opt to park at the park, where there’s more available spaces, the Urban Forrest trail starts between the Dog Park and the Equestrian Center. The south park trail goes up a hill along the way, over a good view spot, where hikers can look back down on the park lake. From there, all one has to do is turn around and look left, or southeast, to see the beautiful plants, flowers and trees of the Urban Forrest! Taking the trail fork left, just past the Equestrian Center, will end up at the garden and then the forrest. Walk-ins...
Read moreThis place is a nice. There is parking off of Ellis for about 6 vehicles. It is not usually very crowded and the people have always been nice every time I've been. There are horse stables bordering the trail on the perimeter of the urban forest. You often see people riding or walking their horses on the trail, but it is always clean when I'm there. On the other bordering side there is Huntington Beach Park with a dog park that is fenced in. You can see the lake in the park and Kathy mays restaurant. You can walk to the restaurant from this parking lot, it's about a mile. It is worth it for the walk because the food is good. I am glad this...
