Monte Sano State Park — Attraction in Huntsville

Beautiful walk! My sister, husband, and I took my Dad here for an early Father's Day outing while we were all in this area for a special family birthday party. He's a bird watcher and this is on the Northern Alabama Bird Trail. We did North Plateau Loop Trail and it was manageable for my 64 year old Dad to navigate the path. The weather was beautiful in late May. We stopped by the CCC museum (one room; used to be the entry booth to the park) and the docent was really helpful and fun. Great!!!! Taking a toddler here is great, they have a HUGE and super cool actual playground for the kids. Best part a lot of the park is in the shade for summer! I highly recommend, it’s clean, the views are amazing and the trails are well kept. I wish some of the trails were marked more clearly as far as where it starts. 27 trails to explore. There is a disc throwing trail. Quite a few people on their bikes. There are no paved trails. I was there with family. We did the North Loop trail -good for newbies and first timers to the park. The South Loop trail is also good for newbies. We saw a playground and quite a large picnic area.
