Oakwood University — Attraction in Huntsville

My wife and I recently visited the Oakwood Farms Market while visiting family in Huntsville and I must say we were overly impressed! When we walked in, we found the store to be very well stocked with quite an assortment of fruits/vegetables and other interesting products. We were also amazed by the size and quality of the produce which we typically do not find in markets where we live in Houston, Texas. Bryan, the Store Manager really made us feel welcomed during our visit in the market. He was knowledgeable about the products we expressed an interest in and led us on a tour. He also encouraged us to visit the vendors outside where we purchased a very tasty collard green patty that delighted the palate. This was our first visit to the Oakwood Farms Market and it was more than just a visit to a market, it was a very enjoyable and pleasant experience! Gorgeous place!! I love the fresh fruits and vegetables the have for sale. The gazebo sitting area is serene and the perfect place to enjoy an outdoor lunch. However, I was greatly disappointed by the hot food in the cafe. The sandwich was horrible (I had the Southern Comfort panini)!!! Owners, investors, whomever monitors the reviews: Perhaps you all should haves someone who actually knows how to cook vegan food on staff??? I suppose it was vegan fried chicken? I don't know, but the I could barely taste it because it was smothered in an off tasting Bar B Que sauce. I almost puked after a couple of bites! Please go back to the drawing board on that sandwich or hire someone who knows how to make good...

The shop is nice! I found so many things here that I haven’t found anywhere else here in town yet. This is not the first time I’ve gone, but it is the first time I ate.

I can honestly say that my daughter and I were highly disappointed. I got the beyond burger and some fries and my daughter got a smoothie and fries. The smoothie was good.
