Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives! So much to write here, and a big heartfelt thank you to Laura and her team at Forevermore events for making it happen and supporting us throughout the process. We felt completely relaxed during the wedding, a real gift to be able to be present and in the moment knowing her team had it all covered.
The venue! We got married at Lazalu - it's magical, breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful, and the host is wonderful. I could not recommend it enough! Laura and her team know the venue inside and out - down to the seemingly small, yet important details like where the sun will be at different times, and what the plant life will be like in what season. They have produced multiple weddings there at different times of the year. They also have a close relationship with the owner of Lazalu making the experience feel intimate and special. Laura took the time to visit the venue with us before the wedding weekend, walk through different possible setups, and answer any questions we had. She knows what works well and what doesn't while staying open to creative ideas.
The food! We used Papa Got Jerks! local Jamaican food and it was delicious and affordable! I'm from NYC and this was incredibly special for us to have. Laura and her team worked with the caterer to set up an easy flow for the guests and buffet line that looked stunning with the table setups and Zion background. Her team worked alongside the caterer as support and made sure that guests were taken care of.
Decorations and rentals! Forevermore events does it all - they offer full event rentals and wedding decorating support. We put together a mood board for Laura and her team and they knocked it out of the park. The tables, plates, candles, lounge area, bar, dance floor - it was all so beautiful and aligned perfectly with our vision. Forevermore has a huge inventory, and if there's something that they don't have, Laura will help you find it. I admired her eye for style and design, and as a designer myself, felt at ease with the aesthetic of the weekend.
Flowers! Laura has strong partnerships with local florists, we went with ByBloomers and BYGOLLY they were amazing! Seriously my dream bouquet!!!! See above - vision hit spot on.
Photography! Laura has strong partnerships with local photographers as well that are familiar with the venues she uses - which is a big plus! They know the spots! We went with MFelt Photography and they were incredible. Not only are they amazing photographers, but they were a delight to have around as well.
There's more to write but I'm getting close to a novel so I'll end it here! Laura's team is amazing, hardworking, and has fantastic partners in the industry to put it all together. We are forever grateful for...
Read moreShe sounded great when we first spoke and hired her. We needed someone to help keep us under budget and help arrange and organize everything since we live in slc and were getting married in st. George. Almost immediately after hiring her things went south. She never responded to our emails. Most of our correspondence stated with us saying âjust following up with youâ âhavenât heard from youâ and the like. Almost immediately she started going over budget. Our absolute max was 10k. She was costing 4K and she knew our venue was costing 5k. How does a food cost of 4k make any sense?! She was condisending when we talked and it became very clear early on she wanted to plan the wedding her way and didnât care for our suggestions. Up until our trip down to st George for finalizing things and cake tastings we just figured our personalities didnât mesh. Whatever. We can deal with that. Then the trip south. For 3 months we had planned a trip to st George to do one last walk through of the grounds, rental finalization, food and cake tasting. The day we drive down and are getting settled into the room we get an email from her with the itinerary for the next day. No where did it say anything about the cake. So I emailed her back asking about it and she responds with: âturns out the cake designer is out of town but we figured since your wedding is a year away you can just come back downâ 1: you have 3 months of prep...the night before at 9pm was the earlier you knew she was out of town? 2: wow...way to make it super obvious she didnât give a damn about our wedding. When we brought up how upset her unprofessional email made us she blamed the cake designer.
We gave her another month and communication got even worse. We finally decided to fire her and start over with someone else. After finding some of the other poor reviews itâs clear that if you donât have a ton of money or disagree with her design idea Laura isnât going to work hard at your wedding.
The only reason I gave her 2 stars and not 1 is because she refunded us part of the deposit we gave her in the beginning for unused...
Read moreI worked with Laura and Forevermore Events to plan my September 2024 wedding for 190 people. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend her services and recommend conducting thorough reference checks before hiring Laura (the owner).
Despite billing herself as a full service planner, we ended up shouldering the weight of the planning. We did not receive a budget from her, and she did not track any expenses for us. Tracking expenses was complicated by her practice of sending each version of each contract in a separate email thread.
We repeatedly requested that she review contracts for errors or changes before sending them to us. She did not. Thankfully, we did, and found (and reversed) several thousand dollars in errors. The errors continued up until the rehearsal, when a vendor added $800 to an already paid invoice. Laura could not provide an explanation. My husband had to handle this issue directly with the vendor two hours before our rehearsal dinner.
She also made baffling suggestions that led us to stop trusting her judgment. Examples include recommending two toilets for 190 people, 120 bus seats for 190 people, and hairstyling for 16 women beginning "in the afternoon" for a 5pm wedding.
Finally, she appeared to have no sense of control over the timeline. I had to make repeated corrections leading up to the event. At the wedding, Laura approached and said, âWeâre 90 minutes behind. What do you want to do?â All I wanted her to do was her job: fix problems as they arise so we could enjoy our wedding. Instead, she proposed no solutions, and my family and I found ourselves negotiating with vendors mid-wedding to keep things on track.
I loved my wedding thanks to some of our amazing vendors (Dance Doctors, Gideon Photo, A. Green Video, Kelso's, and Bryce with Festival Sounds in particular were incredible). And I debated leaving a negative review for this small business. But ultimately, my experience was so stressful and disappointing that I decided a warning to others was warranted. I hope this feedback is useful to Laura and Forevermore...
