Carey Park — Attraction in Hutchinson

Emersom bigguns in Carey park, when it comes to fishin, you might even catch a shark. Or if you wanna go swimming this summer, i do confide, the swimmin pool has a really big slide. If your a skater with a board or skates, the skate park is good fun for goodness sakes. The river is always a refreshing treat, and is much safer than playin in the streat or runnin amuck bring some bread and feed a duck. Its cheaper than payin for a lease and it dont cost anything to feed the geese. Softball teams playin in the fields of dreams, right next to a river made of many streams and ice cream on a sunday walk in the park is much better than runnin amuk after dark Golf with disks can be played on a course, heck you can even bring your horse, dog, or cat cause family fun is where its at There is even a hot springs that seems out of place But if you come, better leave without a trace Dont leave your garbage or trash pick it up dont be afraid Cause we are not your cleaning crew, or maid And please no glass in the river I saw a little girls foot cut that made me shiver Almost cut in half and missing a toe From a broken bottle in the mud, so please in the river, your bottles do not throw, unless you like the sight of blood, Haha ok i got sidetracked and almost lost focus, but family fun at Carey Park dont take money...

It's the park I've lived by my whole life. Most of the playground equipment has been redone, the diskgolf and golf course are pretty big, the trail starts here and goes all the north of town to rice park. Theres a couple ball diamonds, gazebos, pic nice areas and the zoo is getting nicer every year. Down side, not enough places for football, or basketball courts. There's a pool and a volleyball area. But I'd like to see some more basketball courts with hoops small enough for kids and hoops big...

Great park! Has areas for walking, picnic shelter, swimming pool for all ages (there is a fee to swim). Nice play equipment (several different areas of park) and views are nice. Often small wildlife such as squirrels, ducks & rabbits can be seen. The zoo is also within the park area (fee required) , a small train goes through the zoo ( tickets need to be purchased).
