Looks like a great museum to explore. We showed up after 4 pm and it was closed. Looks like they're open from 11 to 4 Daily. I took pictures of the hours, prices, and the phone number for guided tours. Im going back when they're open and to make arrangements for a guided tour. There are a lot of old buildings to see located around the Museum, Great history.

Had a wonderful experience looking at all of the different types of technology used throughout the time period of the late 1800's through early 1900's. The gentleman running the museum was a pleasure to speak with and encouraged us to be interactive for some pictures. Looking forward to visiting again with my daughter.

The basin historic museum is not only a great place to learn about the mining history of the Boise Basin but also the importance of this town to the state of Idaho as a whole. Lots of historic buildings that are incredibly preserved. When you come to Idaho City it’s like walking into a time capsule from the 1800’s. The museum is a must-see for anyone...

Idaho history was made at this site in many ways. It was Idaho City's Post Office after the devistating fires of 1865 and 1867. I lived in one of Idaho City's oldest houses across the street for many years. Built in 1867 for Idaho City's first attorney, J.F. Dutton. You definitely feel as if you have stepped back into...
