Sarsaparilla Ice Cream Parlor and Gift — Restaurant in Idaho City

This rating is for the overnight rooms upstairs, not the parlor itself! I did not partake in the ice cream or soda and cannot comment on those. I rented the suite for a single night as it was the only place left in town. It consisted of a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and livingroom (with second bed) built into a slanted attic. The ceiling was much too low and I continually hit my head. There was only a single portable air conditioner for the entire place, which was extremely inadequate, especially for an attic. It was in the mid 80s the entire night and would have been more comfortable sleeping outside. It was nice to have a laundry machine, but there was no laundry soap provided or available for purchase. Very tasty ice cream, nice gift shop. I too off 2 stars because they only have one size milkshake, which is far too big for a child or an adult who does want a large amount .They have a sign posted on their menu that statws they used to have a child size but had to stop as to many adults were taking advantage of it. To me this is ridiculous, what if the adult wants a smaller size? Why not offer multiple sizes and not label one a kids size, just label it a small. Problem solved. I didn't want my kids to be left out of getting ice cream so I hadpay $4.50 per shake that both of them only ate about 1/3 of. And of course they chose a flavor i didn't like so it got thrown away. Very easy to solve this...

Great ice cream parlor with wonderful options of ice cream flavors that are creamy and very flavorful. Scoopes of ice cream aren't small and when they say two and a half scoops, they mean it, with a tasty treat at the bottom of every cone! No skimping here! The place smells wonderful as they make their own waffle cones, and it's mixed with the smell of espresso as they make many different coffee drinks as well as Italian sodas, the famous Idaho Scotch and Soda, as well as other drinks and novelty items. FREE WiFi, a gift shop, and their salted caramels are to die for! Wonderful customer service and plenty of seating. Right next door is an old time photo place you'll have to...
