I haven't been in a ton of museums in my life but I've been in a few. I enjoy the BAM because they rotate exhibits along with permanent collections but within those permanent collections they do rotate new pieces in. Their newest and biggest exhibit by far is the The World Stage: Contemporary Art from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation. I really really like this exhibit! There are some cool pieces and a vast variety of media. I think everyone would be able to enjoy this exhibit no matter who you are or whether you like art or not. There is something for everyone to enjoy! They have a special experience here just for kids as well. Admission is not expensive and if you want something fun and different to do in an afternoon then check out the Boise Art Museum!

This art museum is absolutely worth it for the price - and you might even learn something! It’s a small museum, I spent maybe 45 minutes there. I loved their exhibit covering the Great Basin, especially the photographs. They have a large collection of Native American arts - all donated from a couple that collected it. They do not allow backpacks, but they do have free lockers (maybe 12?) for you to use. If it’s busy, you may need to plan ahead. You have to reserve your tickets (online) at least two hours in advance due to covid. When I checked in, they had a sign that kept track of how many people were in the building. There were only a handful of other people while I was there. They do have a hands-on kids art area, but it is currently empty due to covid.
