I came for the Star Wars exhibit and it *is* really cool - but I guess I was expecting more for the ticket price of nearly $30. It's 95% painted models with a few larger-scale set ups that are great for photo ops. It is impressive that it was all done by fans, though I wish there were more information about each piece - I already know the characters represented, I wanted to know more about who made what, how long it took them, the construction, etc. Maybe that would have made it a bit more impressive and interesting - wow, it took Bob from Detroit 230 hours to make this suit out of PVC! - something like that. As it is, I read everything, watched everything, took loads of pictures, and was still through it in 30 minutes. The Star Wars exhibit takes up almost the entire space. Once you're through that, there's one room with several hands-on "experiments" with slime, magnets, friction, etc, plus a fun play space for small kids, 4 and under, I think. To get my money's worth, I played with more than a few things, walked backwards through the Star Wars exhibit (it was early and there weren't too many people yet), then went through the whole thing again, took a good look through the fun gift shop, and even with all that, it was under an hour before I left. I'd feel a lot better about it if the price were closer to around $20. Parking is free for 2 hours, plus it's adjacent to Julia Davis park with much more 2 hour parking, and there's a playground right on the other side of the small bridge from the parking lot.

I really loved our trip to the discovery center. I have children that are teenagers as well as a 6 year old. They loved seeing the creature art exhibit. And loved the T-Rex. The hands on activities that they did have, all 3 kids enjoyed together, which usually doesn’t happen because of the age gap. I do recommend paying for the year. With my family of 5 it pays for itself in 2 visits! I called ahead and let them know when I would get there and got right in on a Saturday. They do require masks, which I appreciate with a high risk child with asthma that hasn’t been able to get the Covid shot yet until his appointment arrives. It gives my children a great place to use their minds and get away from the video games. We will be visiting frequently and make it our family tradition that they will never forget.

We just went for our first time with our son who is 2yrs old. We ended up purchasing a year pass for $65. It made sense. It was gonna be $35 for a single entry. They change the exhibits regularly so we figured it would be nice to have the yearly pass. My son loves everything about the place. My husband & I got a sitter & went just the two of us on a date. It’s very hands on & super fun for older kids & adults. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 star is just because I feel it’s expensive for the one time admission. Specially for families who have multiple children. There is a toddler area which my son loved!

Great place for a cultural adventure with the family. Rotating exhibits keep it fresh and interesting. Well worth the membership for anyone.
