HIDDEN BEACH is the name the locals know it best as. To the old-timers "nude beach." Take ( Hwy 28)Tahoe Blvd. south to the "Secret Cove" on the east side of the highway on your left... Where Tunnel Creek comes down to meet the secret cove and a trail head, you must stop there park temporarily to unload people, essentials, dogs etc. From there look west to the lake you'll see just across the highway a guardrail. Just over that is the trail leading down to Hidden Beach. To get down to Hidden Beach from there you must cross the highway very carefully, then. Step over the guardrail and follow the foot trail and it will lead you toward Hidden Beach. When you come to a fork in the trail take the left "southerly"fork and continue on the descending path to the beach. There you'll see the beach is quite large and longer than it is wide. You are at about the mid-point of Hidden Beaches length. To the left wide open sand and a small cave at the end. To the right several mini-beaches that large granite boulders surround to give cover privacy. At the end are a massive pile of granite boulders to climb and tide pools with underwater caves. When you get there find say hello to Tracy Moore. I don't know if there is anyone that has spent more of his life or the number of times at Hidden Beach. But since 1983 he's been swimming the length and exploring the underwater caves during the time from late may to October at least 4 times a week..you do the math. Never the less... I do believe there is no one who has gotten more from Lake Tahoe with maximum pleasure and the best times with friends and family. Also please remember to preserve our precious natural resource. Once it's gone, or polluted it will never return to it's former glory. Treat it as a heaven on earth and you will feel that Tahoe Afterglow at days end. ...
Read moreThis is one of the stop on Tahoe East Shore Hiking and Biking Trail. Right now, parking along the Tunnel Creek Cafe is free before they get the machines working. If you visit the place in the early evening, parking is not difficult. This is really wonderful that they make this trail possible to access the views of Lake Tahoe and create parking spaces to make it safe. Hiking and biking are two major things that I love. However, with the ups and downs, I really don't think they can coexist in busy days. Some bikers are trying to make it work and enjoy it with hikers, but some of them are not. If Tahoe have restrictions on Tahoe Rim Trail, this place needs more restrictions because of...
