Karst Farm Park — Attraction in Indiana

Karst is a good facility with soccer fields, dog park, and small water park (seasonal). This review is for soccer. The fields this past year have been markedly improved over the care and feeding their showed the past few years--which was poor. Karst remains one of the south central Indiana soccer complexes prone to closure when it rains, and will still sometimes be closed a day or more after a rain due to 'saturation'--which should be read as poorly draining fields resulting from cost cutting at initial implementation (which was very shortsighted and hard to fix). That said, bathrooms as conveniently located, multiple fields are lit, and Karst itself is conveniently located just off SR 37 in Bloomington, so it has all that going for it, plus Saturday theirs usually, during season, concessions. Oh, and a new trail is being put in that connects it to the Westside Y--a long way away, which will make for really nice walks/runs/bike rides during practice (currently there are some smaller trails within the facility). Overall, good park and good soccer facilities, just wish they had crowned and tiled fields so they would be more playable in wet conditions and less prone to closure. Large park. Lots of soccer fields. Several different areas. Good areas for kids to play. Lots of variety. Walking areas. Good facilities.

There are restrooms located in every section of the park. There are walking trails in many locations. Some are paved, some are gravel, and the nature trail is all natural. Beware of roots and puddles on the nature trail.

The Karst Greenway starts back by the water park and back soccer fields. It extends 3.5 miles from there (linear, not loop) and is nicely paved and marked.

There is a dog park in the very back of the park also. The splash pad is available for private parties as well as public hours. There is a disc golf course near the front of the park. There are multiple playgrounds for kids.

All in all it is a very nice park with a wide variety of areas and activities to appeal...

Other than it being cold outside and the bathroom was locked we had a very nice time. They have put in entirely new equipment in the area of the park we were at. They not only put in new equipment but they have put in new play fall ground cover. It is absolutely wonderful. Now if the children happen to run and fall they are less likely to get hurt. The park has more than one area with playground equipment and there is also an area with a splash pad. They seem to be making improvements and adding to the park more n more each year. When we go to the park this summer, this will be the park we will be going to. In case I didn't mention...
