Catherine’s Pass — Attraction in Interlaken

For someone who is a bit unfit it was a tough climb and it must have looked like it as a lady at the too running like a Gazelle asked if I was ok. The highlight of the walk apart from the amazing scenery was having a little Ground Squirrel run up and have a look at me. The views are amazing and it seems you can fish in the lake as well. I Ssaw a family headed down with fishing rods but they hadn't caught anything. In one place you cross a small water creek running across the path. This hike was more in the sun than expected so. Even at the cool temperatures of the high elevation, it can get toasty and shade is few and far between. It is simply a beautiful hike though. There are beautiful wildflowers even in the middle of summer. So many colors! Some friends and I did a backpacking trip into Lake Catherine. it was a good trip for beginners, pretty quick and easy :) and it's just a little bit further if I like to see the other two lakes...
