Lake Martha is a beautiful, shallow Lake and only a skip away from Lake Mary. Personally, I find actual lake boring because it has no fish, but I strongly encourage continuing the path you likely walked from Lake Mary to Lake Martha (hill to your left, woods and eventually Lake Martha to your right). Once the trail gets to Lake Martha it'll break into a Y. If you go right, it'll take you down to the lake. If you stay left, it'll bend up and hiking just a hair more to what I call, "the lookout." You can see Brighton, Lake Martha, and Lake Mary. This is the same trail that'll eventually bring you to Lake Catherine (which is an absolutely gorgeous lake).
I'm sure you've read, careful of moose. I've even seen puma (mountain-lion, panther, cougar.. same), but it's almost unheard of. The moose are pretty mellow, I've never had issues with them. Just remain calm, acknowledge their existence, keep your distance, and prevent alarming noises and movements. If they attack you, you probably deserved it.
