If Cuyuna isn't the best Mountain biking spot in the state, it's one of the best. Even better, it's so well designed that it doesn't suffer the constant closings that many of the twin cities trails are plagued with. The general rule at Cuyuna is "if the parking lot is dry, it's good to ride". One of my recent trips, it started to sprinkle as I was finishing up. Very few spots even got wet and anything that hit the trail soak right up. In general there is an easy trail (be cautious because this will be difficult for beginners) and there are a series of medium to hard trails. Most of those are designed so there is very short, somewhat hard climb followed by long flowy rollers. They are very fun. The park has changing areas, toilets, water, maps, picnic area, bike tool station, swimming beach for cleaning off after. I always finish my be riding over to the Yawley Area and riding Bobsled. Super fun 10 min ride. Lastly this is a state Recreation area so if you don't have a state park pass, you need to buy a day pass.

My favorite mountain biking trails in the whole state of Minnesota. Lots of challenging, fun, exciting trails, and also plenty of more mellow trails. Distributed over four clusters of trails, the Mahnomen and Yawkey clusters also have swimming beaches. Kayaking on the lakes is also very nice, scenic. Beautiful scenery! The mountain biking trails have excellent drainage due to the rocky soil so they are generally rideable within a couple hours of a heavy rain.

Absolute blast! Family friendly or solo, Cuyuna will have it for you. Enjoy the endless single track trails for all levels. Don’t like mt biking? Get out on the paved trails in and around the park that will lead you to Crosby/Ironton to enjoy some food and a cold one. Numerous lakes to kayak, canoe and swim as well. Lots of Places to relax and just enjoy being outdoors.

Very well maintained trails rideable within a short time of rain. Trails are clearly marked and uni‐directional so you don't need to worry about running into people. Offers something for everyone from fast and flowy to a tabletop jump line and drops. There is a paved trail too but unsure of its distance. Plenty of eating and drinking options in town. If you're in the area it's a no‐brainer to ride these trails. If you're coming from a distance, stay somewhere you can ride out your backdoor ala Red Rider Resort or True North Basecamp. Even if you stay in town, trail access is very easy and a very...
