MacDaddy’s Donut Garage — Restaurant in Ironton

Donuts are OK nothing special but the descriptions sure sound like it. I expected these to be much better than a grocery store prepackaged donut but they turned out to be worse. Barely but worse. They’re all wet! There’s not a dry donut in the bunch. What I mean is all the frosting and glazes are wet. You can touch your finger and then you’ll lick it off. So if you go, make sure you bring a fork. Yes, even the glaze one. We stand in line which was to be expected, but there was only like four or five orders ahead of me and student line for like 20 to 30 minutes. The two people behind the counter were kind, but the week of Fourth of July, you would expect at least four and that would’ve solved the problem. I’ll try it one more time because maybe they have some bigger issues but know what you want before you go because they have to go in the back and get everything. Why they don’t have some kind of menu that you can write down what you want or even a piece of paper so they don’t have to keep checking what you wanted is beyond me. Very nice little donut shop right in the heart of bike country. I got the small apple fritter which could easily be enough for 2. The big ones probably would feed 4. The apple fritter was done just right not doughy or greasy at all and done to perfection. Very nice seating area set up to enjoy these donuts with friends. Edit: Today is National Donut day so we went over and visited our favorite donut shop. They were bringing out 2 new donuts today and I know one was a Carmel filled Apple Fritter. 😳👍We were met with a very long line of content people waiting patiently for some donuts. We recently visited the area for mountain biking. Cykel shared a post about MacDaddys, so we thought we better check it out! The donuts were great! Fantastic selection and very friendly staff! My husband wanted to go back the next day to get a huge apple fritter. So the next day my young son and I popped in after our ride, later in the morning so selection was getting low.
