Despite the heat, it turned out to be a great workout with a steady incline that really got the heart rate up. The trail is well-maintained and easy to navigate, with clean restrooms available at the entrance, which was a nice bonus. Read moreThis is my go-to quick five mile hike. The parking is free but the lot is tiny, so I go right when it opens at 7AM. There are actual bathrooms at the start of the trail. The nature loop isn't the most exciting trail, but it can be nice in the spring before the plants turn to dust. The next part of the trail is uphill and sandy, which is a good challenge.
