Really cool experience just amazing. I was surprised to read about Lydia Strunk’s shark attack here. The waters here are very shallow only 5-6 deep. Probably the reason they don’t let you swim here any more. I probably would not have paddled back to shore with my legs dangling in the water if I had know about it before hand. I would still do it again no question. You will get wet so dress with that in mind. It was just beautiful being out on the water at night. Even though the moon was very bright the night we went out our guides had tarps to cover over us to block out the light so we could see the dinoflagellates it is amazing. I will definitely do it again and go on a night the moon is not very bright. The bumpy dirt 4x4 road to the put in is an extra adventure to the experience.

Amazing experience! Seeing the glowing water stream past your paddles and hands is amazing. First time kayaking and our family of six with kids in ages from 8-18 loved it. Plan to be bear foot as you will need to walk in deep mud- but it is well worth it. Plan to get wet as you row. There is organic mosquito spray - deet kills bio plankton. But if you go at night AFTER sunset mosquitos aren’t really out past sunset.

We had to catch the ferry by 9:30pm and we’d been trying all day to book a tour for 2 at the earliest time possible. tip Book at least a day in advance. We gave up on ever seeing the bay and decided to end the night with some seafood from Duffy’s.

On the way to Duffy’s, we walked by Louis (one of the tour guides from Abe’s) and in the magical voice he asked us: “You want to go to the Bay?” Haha!

Christie (The Other tour guide) said they were full but that we needed to see it before we left!

We believed it impossible honestly and didn’t get our hopes up but they made a couple phone calls to arrange for us to squeeze with them. (Christie even offered to squeeze in her kayak to see the glow of the bay).

Longest story shortened, the bay was one of the most beauty’s adventures we’ve experienced and it was worth almost missing the ferry. In the end we got our own kayak and was able to experience the bioluminescent creatures first hand at night. I agree with everyone! YOU MUST GO!!

We returned to Duffy’s at 9:15 with only 15 minutes to get to the ferry. But 741 taxi service got us across the island in 10 minutes just in time to catch the ferry.

Really wish there was a way to find everyone hi helped us and thank them personally because they made that one of the greatest experiences...

COOLEST MOST MAGICAL PLACE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!

We took a glass bottom kayak tour with JAK water sports, which I highly recommend. David, our guide, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It was the most amazing thing I've ever done / seen. I felt like I was in the movie Ferngully, haha. The bay is especially bright lately after Hurricane Maria, you see big flashes of light every time you dip your paddle into the water, awesome streams of blue/green light streak under the glass bottom. The closer to the center of the bay the brighter it gets, if the water gets on you or you dip your hand in the water it will sparkle for like 10 seconds after you pull it out!!

I talked to a few people about it before I went and they said it was the coolest thing ever, I was kinda thinkin to myself "yeah, ok I'm sure it's pretty good but I don't know if I'll be that impressed." I was so wrong, it IS the most spectacular thing ever, I felt like a little kid.

You don't see stuff like this every day folks, I'm telling ya it's truly a sight to behold. Go on a night as close to the new moon (no moon) as possible, plan your trip around it if possible. Sorry if I'm rambling here but this place really moved me, I can't...

Amazing! Water is full of tiny creatures that give off light when disturbed. Quite a light show! This is the best bioluminescent bay in the entire world! Go on a new moon or before the moon rises.(Google moon rise times) The name mosquito is because a pirate with a boat named "mosquito" used to hide out in the bay. Sadly the night we were there there was no breeze. The name "mosquito" became true. We were attacked by annoying mosquitoes no matter where we paddled. This greatly reduced out enjoyment of the tour. The guide knew this and wore clothes to protect himself. The company, "fun brothers" failed to inform us of this even though they had good communication otherwise. The guide was entertaining but really didn't "know his stuff" as well as I had hoped. I can't recommend this company. If went again I would go with a guy named Abe. I spoke with him on the phone and even over the phone he was incredibly...
