This trail is more challenging than I expected as the lane is pretty narrow and so slippery although it was not raining. However, the scene was spectacular! Like straight out from a fall theme painting. I spotted a lot of mushrooms on the way - some bigger than the size of my palm, and a lot of small ones! Highly recommend and be sure to check the weather before you go.

A well maintained in and out trail. The whole hike was 3.6 miles with lots of twists and inclines. It’s a pet friendly hike and easy to find. The whole hike took us exactly 2 hours.

The south leg of the trail was nice, but the footing was a little precious in places. Maybe too many wet leaves on the trail for safety. Very nice. Didn't see anyone else.

This out of the way trail up to the main cougar mtn trails from may valley is a real joy to hike. Despite being surrounded by housing, you'd think you are alone in the middle of wilderness. Although all of cougar mtn was heavily logged over 100 years ago, this section of forest appears to have only been cut once. Lots of huge western red cedar, with some approaching old growth size. The forest appears to be very healthy with lots of moss and native understory ferns and shrubs. It is some of the best restored forest on cougar mtn. Downsides are very limited side of road parking(2 - 3 cars only), and being very close to some houses in the...

We had a nice walk here. Parking was right on the side of the road and next to someone's driveway but there were clearly marked signs for the trail. I'm not actually sure if we finished the route because the signage wasn't great past where you have to cross a road. You could tell it was urban greenspace because there were houses here and there but it was great for a short hike when we just had some quick time...

This is a lesser known Cougar Mountain entrance on the mountains southside. The trail into the main park area crosses a road, but it follows a creek and overlooks an impressive fern canyon, which provides a remote feel. The trailhead itself is next to a house and private property. There is some parking on a stone birm next to the road, but there is only enough room for about...
