My family visited this place in June, hot summer day. We could appreciate the history of the place but at the time we went it was more like hiking in the woods instead of gardens. The woman who was there also let us into the home. It is showing its age and there is certainly history still there in the furniture, pictures, wall and ceiling details, solarium and porch. They are using the grounds for wedding and baptisms and baby showers so there are rooms with updated kitchen and modern furniture in some of the rooms. I imagine it would be a nice place to get married especially during April and May when the caretaker said was the best time of year to see the flowers. This was very disappointing. Overgrown, dirty, falling apart. I get the bridge creek and sway and I walked over the dry rotted boards. I would have sat down but the benches are decayed and look like they have spiders under them.
