Palmer Park was a great little spot to stop with the kids to play. They really enjoyed they playground. It is a nice size and also has a separate play section for younger ones, ages 2-5, yet as a parent you are still able to be right there with eyes easily on both sections to watch your children. It also seems like there were several nice paths and other activities to do. It looked like there was a big zip line that was unfortunately out of use and none of the bathrooms were open, which I find more often than not at a lot of parks, which is super frustrating when your children have to go potty right away. We were there in the daylight on a weekday afternoon around 3-4pm, so I would have assumed the bathrooms would be open. I took one star off for that because as a mom with littles, it is definitely a hindrance when the bathrooms are closed and you're frantically searching for a way your young child can use the bathroom. Overall, we'll be back and we'll hope the facilities are open! Oh, there is also a pretty neat looking splash pad that wasn't open when we went because of the winter months but we'd love to go check it out when...

Great park . Could be a little better restroom set up for such a large park, there dosnt seem to be many buildings designated for a convenient set up to get to a bathroom close by for the elderly and little ones. I do like how the park has designated for age appropriate equipment however I noticed there had been some vandalism because the kiddie see saw was broken without any kind of caution set up to avoid the little ones from getting pinched if attempting to play on it. I recommend multiple adults for this park if you have multiple children as there are MANY many blind spots and almost impossible to monitor your children especially if you have a younger child who you're watching in the small kids area. As a whole this park is quite unique and I enjoy taking my children there but I have to think about how much work I feel like going through before picking what park to go to. This is probably my number 3 out of 5 parks we...

The park itself was very nice and offered a great variety of things to do for all ages. The pool was great but we did experience one of the laziest lifeguards. My 4 year old walked up to go down the slides in the pool and as soon as she made it to the top and sat down she was shoved aside and pushed back roughly from the older children. Her and all the other younger children. This happened until an older gentlemen had to raise his voice so they would step back and stop trampling them. All the while a heavier set male lifeguard watched it happen and when I asked him multiple times why he wasn't blowing his whistle or doing anything he didn't even answer me. This man should be fired and the others trained properly. The smaller pool was honestly better and watched better because it specifically catered to the younger children. With this new one and the pure laziness of the lifeguards someone is bound to get...

1st Time here and it was a Hit with the kids! I can't wait to come back. There is an separate space for littler ones that's a fenced in area.(2-5) and a larger more open space (5+)Great design especially if you have little runners who like to just take off. Lots of different play equipment for all ages. There is a public bathrooms pavilion not far from the playground and pool area. It also houses soda machines and a shaded picnic area. This is one of the best inclusive parks I've been to with many sensory, wheel chair accessible ramps and play equipment. We look forward to comming back once the pool is open. If your planning on spending the afternoon here, Picnic benches are in the surrounding areas if your looking for a lunch space. Also it has plenty of lawn space to picnic on the grass. The Perfect Little Location for a Fun Family day at the park!

Palmer Park is a large park in Janesville. It has 9 tennis courts, surrounded by trees, and backed by a wind-blocking bluff. It’s one of the prettiest settings for tennis courts anywhere. It serves as the home of the Janesville Open tennis tournament. The park also has a children’s swimming pool, numerous oak tree-shaded picnic and grilling spots, several picnic structures. The Ice Age trail passes through the park which extends from the park through Janesville’s green belt. There is combination of open grassy areas and dense forest. A stream passed through it. In Janesville, the City of Parks, Palmer Park is my favorite.
