So why a one star? Well when one drives an hour and 1/2 away to hit "supposedly" one of the states biggest flea markets yet encounters anything but that, its a one star. Now in their defense I had no idea this had become a Latino Shopping mall but that is exactly what it is. Nothing wrong with that but again its not a flea market. I will state I have never been here and had no idea it had been rebranded, thats on me.
But with that being said and your interested in going, I will help you out. First and foremost 95% of the vendors are selling the exact same thing. If you are looking for a cowboy hat, boots, quinceañera dress, cheap knock off perfumes, 5ft tall speakers, hooker jeans/dresses, Chinese made electronics or a plethora of unknown origin of Spanish spices then this place is for you. But wait here is the best part. All you have to do is walk down the very first aisle. Because after that its just a repeat with very few exceptions. No seriously it was like the movie Groundhog day.
They claim to be a multicultural environment. Mmm not so much. A walk thru the food court will tell you that's not he case. With that being said, if you want a nice cowboy hat, maybe a puppy from an unknown source, a live chicken or insanely big speaker, then this is the place. And again you only have to stroll down the first aisle to obtain all of that. But hey on a good note if you were thinking about visiting Cancun or Cozumel, save yourself some dough and just go here. Literally the same exact thing you would see at any tourist trap. Stay thirsty my friends. *Not a...
Read moreI live in SC. With frequent trips to Atlanta, I have seen the signs for this flea market and thought it might be worth checking out. I once had an issue with a delayed flight out of GSP, so I had my wife and daughter take me to ATL. They stopped at La Vaquita on the way back to SC. Well, I went on Saturday 17 Sept to see it, it’s a flea market with nothing that the flea markets in SC don’t have. Except air conditioning. I don’t recall Anderson Jockey Lot interior tables being like this (but I haven’t been there for a bit). As for the food court, you can have Mexican food, go to the next booth and try their Mexican food, or go across the way and try their take on Mexican food. There was a Papa John’s booth and a few other food stands but if you don’t want Mexican you will be disappointed as other choices are few. Don’t get me wrong, I love Mexican food. But as for the prices, oh my, let’s compare it to movie theater concession stand prices, or airport food prices, it was up there. Wowzers 😳 $17 for a carnitas torta and lukewarm fries, not counting the drink. Food tasted good but not worth what we paid, IMO. If I go again I am eating somewhere cheaper before I go inside (hello Quik Trip)! Oh and “Cash Only” in the food court. Cash is common at flea markets but you would think a food court stand would have the option for cards or pay by app. But then I guess prices for food would be...
Read moreThis is not a flea market per se but more of a cheap space for people to come and sell stuff. Vendors are nice and there is a lot of good stuff to browse through. You can find everything from convenience store items to furniture, drones to TVs.
From a booth owner or Vendor aspect, do avoid. If you are a new vendor you will most likely get a really expensive slot on Main Street for a week to try, and then get slotted into a small space if you decide to stay. You are required to open Saturday and Sunday by 9:00 am and close no earlier than 6:00 pm. If you are closed during this time, you have 6 allowances and then they start charging you fees. Then, after 10 total times, they take your booth.
The management values newer vendors over older vendors. I have been a booth owner for 16 weeks and have been applying and waiting for a larger booth for over a month with no consideration. We have also been told that due to renovation, we will be forced to move to a more expensive booth or lose our space at Pendergrass.
Maintenance also takes forever. Took almost 2 months to put up a gate. All requests take at least a week to be heard and processed. Signs must be of a certain size. Deposits required for decorations in the booth.
I’d give a higher rating if management starts to show some care for the vendors. It’s a nice place to go as a customer. Terrible experience as a...
