Read moreFound this Lanier Theological Library from social media video and I was intrigued to visit. Since on weekends the library is closed, I had to visit on weekdays. So I chose one Tuesday to visit since only on Tuesday the library keeps open late till 9 pm.
To visit there you have to wait at the gate and either call the library on phone or use the machine on the gate and let them know that you are there to visit the library. They will tell you where to park. Don't forget to bring your ID.
The visiting experience was smooth. The library staff welcomed us and let us know how to interact while being within the library. We roamed around all the rooms. The seating arrangement is great. Saw some student came out after the scheduled lecture at the library.
The whole library is decorated with books and documents of Archaeology, Biblical Studies, Church History, the DeadSea Scrolls, Egyptology, Linguistics, and Theology. The library also displays ancient artifacts like copies of Bible, scrolls etc. The library structure is just mesmerizing.
On the premises, there is a stone chapel which is built as a replica of a 500 A.D. Byzantine chapel. Since it closes at 5 pm, we couldn't explore the chapel from inside. The chapel adjacent area looks like you are walking down an English village's cobblestone street.
It is a private area, so check out for the private area signs. Would love to go back there again for sure to...
