So I had a great time hiking here, it was a moderate to easy hike, they have some trails that are very hilly, and high up for more of a challenge, but I did see some mom's with strollers so I was very happy to see both sides of it. Only negative is I almost stepped on a copperhead snake, which are very, very venomous, so them being brown and tan i didn't see it until I literally almost stepped on it if it didn't move I would have, thank God it did cause I didn't plan to go on a hike so I just wore my sandals, bad choice I know, but it was my first time coming here and did not know copperheads are here, but I actually just moved to TN 3 days ago so I don't know if that's normal here, but just letting people know there are great trails here, easy to moderate, you can choose the difficulty, they have working, clean restrooms which I was very happy to see, but they do have venomous snakes here so please...

Great local park in Jonesborough, TN. This is not in downtown Jonesborough. Persimmon is known for it's hiking trails in the woods. Soccer and ballfields are available for local sport teams. Disc golf course, basketball court, and a popular water park is there. Picnic shelter at the very end of the water park. Shelter can be rented for large groups and has eight tables. If shelter isn't rented, you can use it for a last-minute picnic. Individual picnic tables with grills are available on the outside parameter of the walking trail near the disc golf area. Restrooms are available in the building at the first ballfield. Park offers an underground tunnel that goes to the Golden Oak Park. Playground equipment and covered shelter tables are available...

Great wooded trails for exercise and dog walking. The trails are mostly in the woods, so well shaded for avoiding the summer sun to help keep your furry friend cooler. The trails wind up and down the ridges of the two hills that envelope the park to get that heart rate going. Hiking the total loop is close to 4 miles, but there are several ways to partition it for shorter stretches. The park also hosts a frisbee golf course and 3 baseball fields, as well. There are bathroom facilities at both ends of the park, trail benches along the way, and doggy waste bags for picking...

Beautiful trails with a few well maintained bridges crossing over the little brook of water streaming through the park. On occasion, you can catch sight of deer and other wildlife! And just this week, the spring colors started popping through, although even the winter-barren trees hold their own haunting beauty! Dog friendly for friendly dogs on leash, of course. And a nice 12% grade walkway option out of the park that skirts the water park! A favorite for locals of all ages!

Persimmon Ridge is one of my go to places for a quick hilly trail run. The hilly trails take you a round the ball fields and water park making for a 3.3 mile excursion with over 700’ of elevation gain. The ridge views are great and a side trail up around the water tower and the water crossing keeps it interesting!
