Nice, small, knowledgeable, plant store. They also have some produce, like a farmers market stand. Prices are good. People are super friendly. Hours change with the seasons, so check their Facebook to see when they're open. I got a thornless blackberry there a few years ago, it had been prolific, easy to care for, and the kids love it.

If your doing any kind of edible gardening or permaculture you have to check this place out. Things here. Old repurposed greenhouses. Rocket mass heaters. Aquaponics. Diy soil mixing. Pigs. Chicks. Rabbits. Geese. Massive grapevines. Classes. Cool people.

Absolutely loved our visit! My boys had a blast checking everything out. The owner is a wonderful host and good with kids. Beautiful flowers and some good looking produce. We will definitely be back.

I met Mark when I stopped by the Gladstone farmer's market. I'm new to gardening and had a LOT of questions. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.

One of the initiatives that I love from Antioch Urban Growers is their effort to educate and enrich the community. I learned that there are educational classes, which also cater to students with autism. I learned that Mark likes to act as what he calls a "hub," to connect people who know things with the people who want to learn those things. I learned that he and a group of volunteers seed-bombed a stretch of highway with wildflowers and milkweed, to encourage the bee and butterfly populations.

This guy is the real deal. He's local, he's knowledgeable, he's friendly. Antioch Urban Growers is a wonderful part of this community, and I'm delighted to have found them.

Now, let's see if I have any success encouraging my new...

If you want to plant organic vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruit trees and prefer hand mixed organic soils and compost, you will love Antioch Urban Gardens. There's nowhere like it in the entire KC metro area. Mark the owner is incredibly knowledgeable and generous with his time and advice. His mission and passion to teach people how to grow good food sustainably in an urban environment while helping the homeless is extraordinary. Everything is locally grown organically on the property. Mark and his staff and helpers provide the very best in customer service. Plan a visit here in the spring - you...

Very nice people own this place. The man was so knowledgeable, it was obvious he’s very passionate about plants. He told me all about their soil and compost it was very interesting. I selected a beautiful pothos plant. I also got a huge red tomato, best tomato I’ve had in many years it was so delicious. The owner also went and got me a few green tomatoes. Highly recommend...
