We stayed in room #240, right off the bat there is no full length mirror in the room, and there's no hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang your clothes on while getting ready for a shower and, those two things annoy me. I think that those are 2 things that are common in all hotels. Anyways we got 2 Queen beds, and paid around $86. That was the price quoted on the phone, I am not a gambler, I'm like the smallest of The Gamblers and so I don't even know if I got a discount. When you check in at the hotel they do add a $25 refundable fee after 3 days supposedly. So that was a shock because they did not mention that over the phone. So be aware of that. They did ask when I checked in if I wanted to be on the first floor or if I wanted to be near the elevator and I chose near the elevator. It was a very quiet stay which I loved. We brought a puzzle to do, 300 piece, in the table in the room was just the right size for it. Like I said we're not huge gamblers so that was perfect alternative for the rest of the night. We did enjoy the 1991 restaurant, my husband got the walleye which was excellent, I ate the mini biscuits, they are not Mini at all, I already submitted my review for them, and the cheese curds which were meh, and we got to desserts the chocolate chip cake and milk mousse, that was okay I wouldn't recommend that and the butterscotch dessert I think it was it was like an upside down small dessert, that was excellent! You should get that!, but I digress. This review is about the hotel room at the Grand Casino Mille lacs, where I stayed with my husband, in Room # 240. Right next to the elevator. Excellent choice, I would stay in this room again. The toilet paper holder was a little bit awkward so if you can't reach behind you that might be an issue. But the beds were comfortable, you do get I think three pillows on each bed, but we bring our pillows everywhere we go. Check out is at 11:00 a.m. the only thing I wish, in this hotel room is that the lighting over the table that we did our puzzle on and that we sat at was brighter. We did write some letters at that table and the light was very dim even with two lamps overlooking that table.

I spent a night in this awesome casino and resort strap in this is my review....... let's start first with the outside and the staff... I have to say the building is impressive walking up to it from the parking lot very clean and well landscaped with lake millie lac right across the street, beautiful lake to fish and boat on. Next to the casino is a night movie theater and grocery store, which I believe is part of the casino property . I was first met by the valet and security guard at the door when walking in very friendly and ready to help also yes they have valet parking .... the gentleman I delt with at the front desk was also friendly and helpful since I didn't book ahead he was more then happy to search for a available room and also explained the perks and services of the hotel and suggested I sign up for the casino rewards program, which I'm glad he did because I was award 40 dollars worth of free spins in the casino alone with a coupon for a steak and crab leg dinner for only 29.99 which I took full advantage of . The dinner was not a 5 star meal but it was definitely worth the money. On a side note while enjoying my meal someone almost choked to death literally in front of me but the staff fast response and call for help got the EMT there in time to save him so I got a meal and show I guess. And for all you smokers and pot heads Minnesota is now weed legal which adventaully all hotels will have to put new rules into place but for now the hotel does off smoking rooms though you can only smoke cigarettes and vapes in the casino but the rooms are a bit dated but still nice at 89 dollars a night plus a refundable 25 dollar security deposit I say wholeheartedly this is a awesome casino and hotel a must check out if your in the area

If I could, I'd give it 2.5 stars. The experience wasn't all bad, but it left quite a bit to be desired. Check-in was smooth, fast, and the staff was friendly, though I was disappointed that there was no discount offered for being a member of another tribe, especially since we extend that courtesy at our own casino. Our room was on the 7th floor, and the elevator ride was a bit unsettling. There was an odd sound, like the cables were hitting something, which made the ride feel less secure As for the room itself, it was just okay. The linens were clean white sheets and blankets but the strong smell of bleach was noticeable. While it’s good to know things were sanitized, the smell was a bit overpowering. The view from the window was unexpectedly revealing; while the scenery was nice, it was a bit unsettling that we could see directly into other guests' rooms, and they could see into ours. Not exactly the level of privacy I was hoping for. On a brighter note, we did win $20 playing the slots, so at least lunch was free. All in all, while there were some good moments, the overall experience felt lacking. A little more attention to details like privacy, noise in the elevators, and guest comfort would go a long way in improving the stay.

After several months we thought we would try Mille Lacs again. Stayed January 21st and 22nd 2023 and if possible things were worse than last stay. Plums no longer serves breakfast so we had one choice--1991. Pancakes were soaked in either butter or grease as I did not eat more than 2 bites and Judi's hashbrowns were shining from the grease and she did not eat them. Had slice of pizza for lunch the 21st and it was like slightly flavored cardboard. Had prime rib at 1991 for dinner. Mine was good but Judi's was 3/4 fat! Server told her to expect that with prime rib but I only had a small piece of fat. They gave her a new piece that was the size of a small roast, very dry and no juice. The burger bar is closed so that only leaves 1991 and Plums for dinners. Elevators were dirty, beverage stations had stuff spilled all over, machines had what we assume was drinks spilled down the front of many of them. Did not see one person cleaning anything other than the bathrooms. The furniture in our room (514) is so old and stained that it could be used for firewood. The shower curtain was very loose and of of course the shower head sprayed two ways one to the side and one down. The corner of the light over the vanity was loose and dirt was built up in the corners of the floor. We will more than likely never return and we used to go there monthly and sometimes twice a month. We spent the weekend of April 16th -18th. The vent in our bathroom in room 191 has not been cleaned in a long time. It was full of dust bunnies. This makes for poor air quality with Covid. The shower head did not work properly and water came out around the head and did not spray properly. I did let the check in person know about these issues and she said she would advise the housekeeping manager. I am sure if I went into that room today the issues would be the same.

We enjoyed going to your casino but will not stay there again until things change. 1991 menu is almost not existent with only about 6 dinners to choose from and prices have gone up and food quality has gone done. For dinner my husband had chicken fried steak and it was cold. I had the chicken alfredo and it was also cold but had flavor. We ordered breakfast the next morning and I ordered the biscuits and gravy. I refused to eat it because it looked like someone had gotten sick on my plate! My husband had pancakes and he said they were good.

Prices also have gone up at Plum's and they are short staffed to handle all the people since 1991 was almost empty and people were at Plum's to try to save some money. Bussing of the tables was bad. I asked for a towel and spray bottle to clean our table so we could sit down and was told someone was bussing the smoking area and would do our table soon. Also the ice cream was closed so only soft serve at Plum's and the amount is less. It is sad to see what has happened since this has been our favorite casino. Grand Casino Hinckley does not have these issues. For a weekend with drawings the casino was not busy until about 4:00 p.m.

Hope things change fast or you will be having less people come. How many go there and do not complain about anything but just do...
