Dog owners please see my comment below about "dog friendliness"
This was a great park and offered a wide variety of experiences for the kids. My niece was enthralled by the water drops, and my nephew loved the rock area. All three of the kids played non stop while we were there. They had a blast exploring the area. I appreciated the mostly clean bathrooms and the shaded picnic area. It also has plenty of shaded grass if you want to have a traditional picnic (we saw a few families that took this opportunity). It's a bit smaller so it does feel crowded faster, however for me that wasn't a big issue. As an overall park experience it was great, and we enjoyed our time here. Will likely go back.
*Dog friendliness: I want to clarify for pet owners that you can not take your dog inside the park. I had Googled ahead of time to verify, and it was listed as pet friendly. This was not correct. When we arrived, the dog was not allowed in the gate. I believe the miscommunication is due to the walking path alongside the park that is probably technically part of the "park". Overall it's a great walking path with a dog drinking fountain along the way and a few dog poop stations. However the park itself and walking path are completely separate. We had planned to have a family picnic with the dog (on leash) and kids because we assumed "dog friendly" meant the whole area, not just the walking path outside. The reality is that one person has to be outside the park with the dog while the rest of the family has their picnic and play time inside the park.
We made it work by splitting our time in half and making use of the walking trails with the kids' bikes. I still think the park is worth five stars, but the "dog friendly" statement does need...
Read moreTalk about the perfect name to describe this park Everything is an adventure here, from the plants to the terrain to the obvious play structures. I feel all ages can have great time here, my 15 month old went bananas for it all. But you could see entire families lounging here under the covered porch swinging in their rocking chairs then having a picnic at the tables while their kids went to town. Even the giant boulders were a great climbing attraction. The massive 3 story slide is the main event, and even my 15 month old could climb the stairs and slide down it safely. Butterflies were abundant, as were tons of different plants/herbs (including chocolate mint, a great kid curiosity). It's all nicely fenced off so no worries about escapes. The major downside is no bathrooms. And the nearest ones are beyond reasonable walking distance in a nearby market center. So keep this...
Read moreThis is mine and my daughter's favorite park in the area. When I was off for two weeks last year, we went all but one day. Since we went while everyone was at school and work, the park wasn't busy at all. The park does get pretty busy during the weekend. I love the pavilion with the benches and rocking chairs where parents can get shade while their children are playing. The ground is a very soft padding- I like this better than pebbles or wood chips that can get a bit messy. After reading some of the most recent reviews, I'm sad to see that parts of the park is closed, and that the foam blocks were missing. The foam blocks helped children who were strangers become friends while they were building together. Hopefully the features that were taken away return to this park. I really wish there were more parks like it in the...
