Delores, Ruby, and Ian were fantastic guides! Delores stayed with us the entire time and was a wonderful person to learn more about Kauai from. On the ride up to the launch spot, she did a great job easing everyone’s nerves by clearly explaining exactly what to expect. When we arrived, we immediately met Ruby, Ian, and Ruby’s sister, who went over the very simple rules. We also asked Delores for a coffee shop recommendation, and she suggested Melrose, which turned out to be an excellent spot as well. Overall, every staff member was friendly and made sure we had all the information we needed. Now, for the actual tubing! It was so much fun and incredibly refreshing. The water wasn’t too cold; it actually felt really nice. If you’re prone to motion sickness, I’d recommend taking a preventative pill beforehand, it’s not too intense, but you do spin a bit and can’t control your direction. They also mention claustrophobia because of the tunnels you pass through, but I didn’t find them too narrow at all, they’re actually pretty spacious. At the fifth tunnel, they ask if your group is comfortable turning off the headlamps to experience it in complete darkness. It was a really unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience! If the dark makes you nervous, you can just let them know and they’ll happily keep the lights on or help ease your worries. Overall, it was a thrilling and fun activity. I highly recommend it! There’s minimal walking or physical effort required, so it’s accessible to most people.

It’s like the best amusement ride ever! Twirling around in the water irrigation system of a former sugar plantation with 20 others was SO MUCH FUN…even for this grandma!! Our guide MTabs, and water guides, Cameron and Cameron, and designated driver, Wes, ensured our safety from start at the warehouse where we were given our gear, to finish back at the warehouse three hours later. In between were a 30-40 ride up the mountain, complete with some local history, a few jokes, and time to get acquainted with each other; to getting more safety instructions with the younger Cameron, along with info on the local vegetation; about 45 minutes in the flume and through four tunnels; then, after returning your inner tube, gloves, and helmet, it was a short drive to a picnic area where we enjoyed make-your-own croissant sandwiches. Some staff were positioned at a few key places along the water route to take photos. Belongings are kept secure in big bins while in the water, and you collect them afterwards. FYI…sometimes my stomach got a wee bit queasy as we kept twirling around whenever we hit the stone edges or tunnel walls. Keep yourself tight and small and you will be fine. If I did it, so can you. Awesome time had by all.

My kids face says it all, great experience, Kynalu (if thats how you spell it) was a good guide and host. The other guys that were in the river as helpers were incredible at keeping the families toghether as its easy to get separated, the water was "refreshing ;)", a great family memory, wish it was a bit longer, as 1.5 hours of this is training, driving and eating...so it does feel a bit short. If you have to pick between this and ziplining, I would do ziplining first (koloa zipline, check out my other review). A lot more bang for your buck!

Our group of 6 adults had a great time Mountain Tubing on our recent trip to Kauai (March 2023). We booked our excursion several months before our trip because we were told they fill up fast. I'm glad we did! The water definitely was invigorating (if you know, you know), but it was still a ton of fun even on the cloudy day that we had. The guides were all super knowledgable and fun to chat with while we were tubing.

There was quite a bit of riding in the shuttle involved (≥1 hour total), but it gave the guides opportunities to talk about the history of the sugar cane plantation and the blockbuster movies that have been filmed on the property. We also made a pitstop at a lookout with a spectacular view of Mount Wai'ale'ale (which sadly we couldn't see because of clouds).

My only criticism is that I wish they had an option to tube that didn't include lunch. Not that lunch was bad—make-your-own deli sandwiches, chips and cookies—but since our tour started at 2pm, it didn't really make sense to have "lunch" at 4pm after tubing. As a group, that was our only complaint and something we felt like we could have done without. Everything else was amazing.

Overall, this is an awesome, family-friendly excursion in Kauai....
