Would give this place 10 stars if I could.
To start clubhouse staff was so welcoming to us. The starter Ricky. “Uncle Ricky” he told us to call him gave us the rundown. Showed us right where the range was, reminded us to make sure we hit a couple putts uphill and downhill bc the greens were very quick but true. Then on the first tee box took our scorecard and gave us some pointers on each of the difficult holes on where to miss. Circled the picture holes, etc.
The course was magnificent. Greens, fairways, bunkers (thankfully wasn’t in many of those) were immaculate. This course covers everything scenery wise. A lot of mountains, trees, garden style forests and valley cart paths through them on the front 9. The back 9 was truly breathtaking. There are so many signature holes on both 9’s but the back was unbelievable. A few of the holes almost didn’t even look real. Looked like a postcard or something.
If I have one regret it’s not playing this course tipped out or the blues as you really get the entire course and the way it was designed to be played that way. My group wanted to play from the whites and I didn’t want to be that guy but kind of wish I did. A few of the very scenic holes especially the par 3 on I believe hole 7 or 8. you could tell were designed to be played from back there so it did cut a tiny bit of visual experience out but that was on me.
All in all this course is worth every single penny and i’d do it again in...
Read more*this review is for July 2025, while the resort and golf course are undergoing major renovations and construction
The course is kind of a mess right now. The clubhouse is being renovated, so the temporary clubhouse is in the snack shop. The snack shop has the only restroom on the course and there is a single stall for each m/w. The parking area is a trek to the temporary clubhouse, so it’s not convenient. There are houses being built along the course, a Hilton hotel being built at the resort and on the course (they are the ones renovating the golf clubhouse) = super loud and distracting construction noise throughout.
All of this would be understandable if the prices were adjusted accordingly, but it’s $300 for non-resident and $195 for Kama’aina, which is a lot.
GENERALLY The course itself is fantastic. Very challenging, five holes are right on the water with beautiful views.
The staff are very friendly, professional, and helpful.
No water stations, they give you two bottles of water at check in.
Hole 15 is the backdrop of the Happy Madison Productions intro, which is fun.
BUT, the golf course is located right next to the airport, so you do get a lot of noise from airplanes taking off/landing. And there were more brown grass areas than...
Read moreA fantastic course I haven't had the pleasure of playing since 1999. I played 6/20/25 and the weather was beautiful. The course conditions were excellent, matching the incredible scenery, lush growth, and ocean views. The new #15 is spectacular along the water and an extremely challenging hole. I'm only giving 4 stars because I was extremely disappointed in the driving range. An expensive green fee should provide an immaculate experience, but the turf conditions, layout, lack of distance markers, and lack of club cleaning station were glaring omissions. I don't know who set up the range that particular day, but you were forced to hit off of a downhill lie with long, scruffy turf in need of a tight mowing. Not ideal and a stark contrast to Poipu Bay, which had all of the proper elements. The interim clubhouse and parking arrangement is not very intuitive and would certainly confuse any first-timers. The new clubhouse is under construction and hopefully this remedies things. Despite these shortcomings, I would highly recommend playing this course and hope to...
