Our family was stopping over in Kearney for one night on our way back home when we were caught in the flood in July 2019. We are so grateful to the University of Nebraska at Kearney. We were amazed at the efficiency at which their staff organized during a natural disaster and cared for hundreds of displaced people. They were incredibly generous and housed us for 5 days in the dorms, fed us, organized transportation all while keeping us informed about the ever-changing flood situation.  We felt that they truly cared about our well being. Terrible college acceptance process. Do not apply and waste your money. You will have to fight for every college transfer class to count. I am not talking about for profit shady college credits. I mean you will have to argue to get credit for anything. Also they will make you prove residency no matter how long you lived here. You will have to pay a notary and everything or get blindsided by my higher tuition. You could be going back to school at 35 and because you didn’t graduate high school in Nebraska your automatically a non resident. As I stated there are easier better alternatives for college than this...
