Gooch’s Beach is a beautiful and peaceful spot, especially in October when it’s far less crowded. The ocean views are stunning, the sand is soft, and the large rock ledge creates a striking focal point that really sets this beach apart. It’s the kind of place where you can take a long, relaxing walk, listen to the waves roll in, and just breathe in that fresh Maine coastal air.

The only reason this isn’t a full five-star review is the lack of public restrooms. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning to spend any amount of time here. That said, it’s still a lovely place to visit. This stretch of coastline has long been a favorite gathering spot for locals and visitors alike, with roots tracing back to Kennebunk’s early days as a bustling shipbuilding town. The beach perfectly captures that classic New England charm — quiet, scenic,...

Long beautiful flat beach, easy to walk one end to the other. Beautiful sunrises in the east, beautiful sunsets in the west. Water temp is average for this area and the surf is varied, sometimes calm and sometimes not. Surfers and surf lessons are common. People are generally friendly, not rowdy. There are some bathroom facilities but across the street is all residential not commercial so bring everything you need for the day. When you arrive at the beach pay attention to the high tide marks and place your beach gear accordingly. In the morning and the evening this is a dogs beach and it's not uncommon to see unleashed dogs running free. Parking is limited, not free and tends to fill up quickly. And, BTW, you could meet George, Laura...

Pet friendly during certain hours. If I recall, it's before 8 or 9 am and after 5 pm ! The tide is quickly going up, so make sure you go at 5 if you want to benefit the beach with your furry friends for a longer period 😊 I had so much fun with my 2 dogs ! You're supposed to have them leashed at all time, but frankly there was not a lot of leashed dogs, so make sure yours is fine with other dogs coming around 😊 There's enough free parking during those hours, but we passed during the day (since we didn't know at the time the hours for dog access) and it was full and not free. Finally, don't try to go with your dog outside of the restricted hours, it's well written everywhere and you...
