Swift Cantrell Park — Attraction in Kennesaw

Update Jan 2020: Their newly renovated playground is amazing!! AstroTurf surface, accessable for kids of all abilities, and lots of new play elements within an expanded fenced in area. Come check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Original review from 2016: This is one of my favorite parks in the area. I bring my pup here for the dog park. It's wood chips surfaced and there's a park of large and one for small dogs. It's well maintained with a water bowl in the summer (water turned off in winter). The playgrounds are excellent. The 2-5yr old playground is fenced in and has modern, well maintained equipment. There are some picnic tables and shady areas within the fence. The 5-12yr old lot playground is unfenced but equally clean and modern. There are a couple of bathroom houses which are clean and well maintained. There are walking paths throughout the park which are smooth and have light hills. They are a mix of sun and shade based on time of day and season. Sometimes it can get quite hit with the sun and heat in the summer. There are drinking fountains and work out stations along the way. Swift Cantrell has always been a great park for everyone! There's 2 playground areas, one for 5-12 ther other for preschool ages. They just recently updated the little one so it is now friendlier for kids with accessibility issues! Gone is the mulch and in its place is turf👍 It is also fenced all the way around which makes it easier for moms like me whose kids always run off in different directions! The older kid playground is just as fun, and both areas have swings. I've always thought the bathrooms at SC were in decent shape. The splash pad (best suited for 8 and under IMHO) is open from Memorial day to labor day daily i believe, but keep an eye on the SC Facebook page to be sure! I've never used the dog parks but noticed there's 1 for smaller dogs and another for larger dogs. I love walking the "trail" it has some markings for distance and it's completely paved so very smooth for ease of use/strollers. Lots of green space if you want to play catch! They also show outdoor movies on these fields; again check Facebook for dates! Please be slow and cautious in the parking lots and entrance as there are children everywhere and people...

It's always a good experience at Swift Cantrell, it's a beautiful park that stays highly maintained by a professional parks & rec staff. There's SO much to do there whether you're a runner, walker, a combination of the two or if you wanna hit the workout station..

It's even better if you're a kid cause they have an amazing playground and splash pad for the little ones!! If that wasn't enough, they have a PHENOMENAL skatepark with ramps, rail slides, and pools to skate in for the kids, teens, and the inner child still locked inside of us (big kids) who can still make it rain even though it's not 1987!! 😎

Restrooms are clean and also nice and they're definitely NOT disgusting like most public restrooms. So yeah, without hesitation I give this park 5 stars cause whatever your pleasure, this place has it all, there's always something to do at Swift Cantrell. I say don't knock it till you try it as I can assure you you'll be glad you did..
