This was my first visit. It used to be known as Kentucky Downs. The downstairs floor is all slot machines with a really nice bar in the center of the room. I love slots, but most of the machines are penny slots. You don't win a lot of money on those. I noticed a "High Roller" room and that's where I found the quarter slots ($0.25). I invested $200 and walked out with almost $600. So that was a plus. Bingo is on the second floor. There were 12 of us that went to play. It was a lot of fun. They play different games throughout the evening. The cost to play is very reasonable compared to the prize money you can win. I didn't win any money, but I'm ready to go back and try! The food is a little overpriced for what you get. The menu sounds great, but what you get looks like it came off a food truck. I got a taco salad for $8.50 - it looked like loaded nachos, it was pretty salty, and the serving was in a 4x3 cardboard container like they use at kids baseball games or something. I probably should've ordered the chicken tenders. Those looked much better than what I got.

The Mint is always fun, clean, and safe. I go late morning, every 6 weeks or so. Yesterday I had $5 in free slot play, and hit the Lucky Leprechaun for $50.60 just playing minimum bet, then hit it again for $35.25. No wonder it's always occupied and couples "tag team it" so no one can get on it! Moved to my other favorite machine near the restrooms (big white tiger on front display), put in 2 $5 bills, got a bonus round, hit it for $55.70. Not bad for an hour of fun! They have a lot of fun perks for slot club members, not crowded weekdays. There were bonus round bells going off all around me. I hear the birthday perks are also great - a friend got $200 cash + $75 free slot play, then hit a PacMan machine for $240!!

Grounds are beautiful. Facilities are very appealing and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. There were no horses running when we went but the machines were easily accessible. The bartender was very skilled and practiced. Alcoholic drinks are not free but water is. There was a cafe open for food. We broke even and considered it a few hours well spent, entertainment cost wise. Also worth mentioning they do allow smoking inside but their ventilation system is so well done you can't even see smoke in the air. And the smell in the air is faint. We vaped in there without issue. The hotel attached had free EV charging, which we happily took advantage of. Left with more charge than we came with.

Very clean. Lots of staff to keep ashtray and bottle areas near slots clean. The free play is cool for your birthday month and I just love the Irons Steakhouse. Sure, it’s bougie, but it never misses. The menu is partially seasonal so I’m waiting the return of the sake broth Chilean sea bass they had at one point. The set up for venue is nice for acoustic, saw Pam Tillis there live. The seats were clean and organized and air conditioned!! Considering I don’t have time and money to drop in Vegas, for $200 I can have a great time goofing off less than 30 minutes away. Also, the trick is to bet lower and catch some free spins. If ya play big expect to lose big, that’s the risk of gambling anyways lol.

I enjoyed staying at the Springhill suite, which is connected to The Mint Gaming Hall in Franklin Kentucky. The walk from the hotel was made very convenient for the hotel guests, whereas we didn't have to walk outside of the building to get to The Mint Gaming Hall and food court. The only thing that bothered me once I was inside The Mint Gaming Hall was the fact it was all the cigarette smoking, but other than that, it was a very beautiful location. I'm not sure about the gaming machines because I don't gamble on slot machines, I'm strictly a cards player. 😉 But everyone I saw playing the slots seemed to be enjoying themselves...

We arrived late to town during business travel. This was pretty much the only place open serving drinks and dinner. The happy place we found was down by the DJ. Dancing is fun whether you are winning or losing.
