My son and I had the pleasure of playing an 18-hole round at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we teed off, we knew we were in for something special. The course is spectacular — lush fairways framed by palm trees, sparkling water hazards, and breathtaking vistas of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. Every hole offered something unique, with just the right mix of challenge and playability to keep things interesting for both seasoned golfers and casual players. Several holes had us thinking strategically, with water coming into play and tight approaches that made us appreciate the course design even more. We grabbed delicious sandwiches after the 9th hole and enjoyed a quick break before heading back out. The back nine kept the momentum going with more fun and scenic holes, and we genuinely had a blast. It was quality father-son time in one of the most beautiful golf settings we’ve ever played. The staff was welcoming, the course was in excellent condition, and the overall vibe was relaxed yet classy. If you’re in the Miami area and looking for a world-class public course that offers challenge, beauty, and fun — Crandon Golf is an absolute must-play.

We were beyond excited to visit this golf course. We have the pleasure of being able to travel and explore golf courses in the area. This course seemed 100% unique and we were super stoked to play. First impression was terrible. The gentleman at the front desk was a jerk. Saw him yell at some ladies prior to entering pro shop. We got there an hour or so to hit the range and get a feel for their greens. The guy at the pro shop would not allow us to check in and we unable to grab a cart to go to the range because the were packed. So we talked to the starter and she asked if we wanted to go out now. We explained our experience at the pro shop. So we hit the range. And low behold the range balls were all damaged absolutely junk. $177 for a tee time and their facilities did not live up to that kind of price. Their pro-shop had little to no merchandise. The course was dry but played well. Loved all the wild life and the scenery. Im assume thats what you pay for. Glad we got to play this course but will definitely not be back. The first impression of this course was quickly shot down by the gentleman in the pro shop! Beware hopefully he starts treating people with respect!

10/12/2022: Although some are still with patches of weeds, the greens are getting much better with good speed. The greens are hard so it's better to have high approach shots to ensure they stay on. It's a tough and long course. 07/27/2022: It's a fun and challenging course with views of Key Biscayne. There are some forced longs and strategic dogleg shots. The greens are small with very good speed and plenty of undulations. The fairways are the worst parts of the course since they are very rough and yellowish, probably due to a recent punch. Luckily, we didn't see a mosquito issue as other reviewers mentioned and the staff treated us well. With a $110 price tag during the summer, I think it's very overprice given its overall conditions and no complimentary of the range. There are much better courses in S Florida with reasonable green fees. I would come back to play it if I can get a better green fee before the summer ends.

I don't like to writing reviews bashing business out, but unfortunately I have to write this review. I drove three and half hours from Tampa to Miami today to spend the weekend, and decided to give this golf course a shot because of all the good reviews, and pictures online. The golf course was in good shape and the views were amazing. I walked in and told the person on the desk I had a tee time set at 4:30 from , he told me that my tee time was set at 4:00 PM. I asked if it was possible to tee off at 4:30 to have at least 20 minutes to warm-up,and he said it was ok. I went to pick up my cart, and explain the situation to the person assigning the carts, the cashier never changed the time on the system, I got charged for two buckets of range balls, and I had about 10 minutes to warm up. After teeing off with the buddy I played with, we were backed up the whole time through out every hole we played. My buddy rented a set of clubs because he came down to visit, he is left handed, he ended up getting a right handed putter on his set. He called and after 3 holes they brought him the right putter. The last thing I that really threw the experience off was the fact that people just hop around the holes cutting people off, and there wasn't any staff going around "supervising" knowing how busy the golf course gets. We had 2 groups that cut us off, a couple joined us after the 3rd hole, and ended up leaving when we got to the 7th hole because they were going to restart the front 9. On the 13th hole we get a group of 4 that cut us off. At that point it was already, 7PM, and a message came up on the tracker of the cart saying that the golf course was closing soon, to please return back and return the carts. It was pretty frustrating for me after a long drive, and my buddy that's on a business trip having to deal with all the rude people jumping and cutting people off, hitting multiple balls knowing there is groups waiting on them to move forward. The golf course was really nice, but overbooked, and there is no control in the golf course. I was really hoping to have a great experience after a long drive, but unfortunately it wasn't. I hope the booking gets fixed, and that the staff have a little more control on what's happening in the course, so other golfers don't get a bad experience and are able to enjoy this...

Worst Golf Experience in Florida – Avoid Crandon Golf Course

I’ve been a golfer for years, and as a Patron card member I play every week across Florida and beyond. I’ve been to dozens of courses around the world, and I can honestly say Crandon Golf Course just gave me the worst service I’ve ever experienced.

My tee time today was 1:12pm. I played only three holes before the skies opened up and it started pouring. I went back to the Pro Shop expecting the standard policy that literally every other course in Florida offers — a rain check. Instead, Mike at the Pro Shop (and his colleague) told me they “don’t do rain checks” and suggested I just wait 30 minutes. Well, I did. Thirty minutes later, the rain was even worse, the course was completely unplayable, and I was left with nothing. Paid my full green fee, wasted my time, and got treated with zero respect.

Before I even drove out to Key Biscayne, I actually called the Reservation Center to check. Michaela, the supervisor, reassured me there would be no weather issues and even confirmed with the Pro Shop that everything was clear. Guess what? Forty minutes later the round was over before it even started. When I called her back, she admitted she couldn’t help — because the Pro Shop simply refuses to issue rain checks.

I’ve never seen such an absurd, unprofessional policy at a golf course of this level and price. Every other course I’ve played in Florida — from public to private — has honored rain checks when weather cuts the round short. Not here. Here, they take your money, shrug their shoulders, and tell you “too bad.”

The service from Mike and the afternoon staff in the Pro Shop was downright hideous. Rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. For a course that brands itself as one of Miami’s premier public courses, the way they treat loyal, paying golfers is a disgrace.

I want every golfer to know: do NOT book Crandon during the summer. If it rains (and in Florida, it always does), you will be left with nothing. No rain check, no refund, just wasted time and money.

As a lifelong golfer whose entire family plays, I can say confidently: this was the worst golf experience I’ve ever had. Crandon Golf Course should be ashamed of how they treat...

Highly disappointed in the customer service. This course was highly recommended to me as my company holds corporate golf events there and colleagues of mine play there regularly. So I brought 3 of my buddies down to play and we all live an hour away. We booked our tee time for 3:24 over the phone and then paid in persona t the golf shop. It wasn't until we were getting our carts that the Ranger said we had to have our carts in by 6:30. That was never told to us when booking or when we paid. No one is finishing 18 holes in 3 hours not to mention there was a 4 some in front of us. Had they have told us that when we booked we would have booked an earlier tee time. Subsequently, we were only able to get to hole 10 and we came in and I even asked for a rain check bc it started to pour and referenced the cart policy that was never told to us and the gentlemen who claimed to be the manager was very rude and not understanding at all. He said the policy changed due to Covid 19 but that policy is listed no where on the website and again, no one mentioned it to us when booking or when paying. The average round of 4 players takes about 4 hours so if booking at 3:24 they should have mentioned the cart issue to us. At that point when I addressed that to him, I asked if we could be credited 9 holes or at least given a discount the next time we came considering they dropped the ball customer service wise by not notifying us and he said absolutely not and was very unprofessional about it and inconsiderate of the fact that we drove over an hour and especially during these tough and trying times couldn't do the right thing by us. I am highly disappointed and its very unfortunate that we did not get to experience the entire course and had to feel rushed from the first hole to try and get in as much as we could and that unfortunate and...
