Quick stop and quite worth it if you want to see some *amazing* artwork. You may not take pix inside their little shop, and no public restroom (though they mentioned there was a portapotty which we didn't notice when there.

We had a lot of fun looking around the shop. Lots of interesting pieces, both small and large. They packed our purchases up very well and they made it home.

I had an amazing time here, and even ordered a custom-made piece. It came out beautiful. It was my family name, and it was done in two days.

Note: I was curious about the bad reviews, some on here and other sites, which all seem to surround customer service. To be honest, I think that the workers are not rude, but more like no-nonsense. What I like is that they aren't going to try to sell you stuff. If you want to come in and look, fine. If you want to buy something, do that. If you want something made, have an idea (a sketch is better) and know what you want to ask. That's it...it's not your chain jewelry shop, so if you want to be sold something, this is not the...

Pete and Gail are Amazing artists! Always something new to see in their gallery! Here you can even see two different kinds of glass working, which is extremely rare to have all in one studio! They do traditional off hand glass blowing, as well as lampworking to make figurines. Highly recommended visiting, but please don't bring your camera in because pictures are not allowed (posting their artwork online could give away their secrets!) And also make sure you've used the bathroom in town before venturing one mile down Old Hill City road, they are in a rural area and do not have a...

Our visit in August of 2016 was amazing. I wish I could say the same for our March 2020 visit. The pieces are amazing but the customer service is a toss up. I love the natural SD feel with gorgeous glass, especially so close to Mt. Rushmore and other "tourist" attractions (these are fun for locals, too.) I would really like to know what time of year is best to come to watch the glassblowers and see new work. I can't wait to have a custom piece made now that I know they offer this service. This is a place worth stopping by if you're in the area or exploring the...
