I'm torn between loving it and thinking it was the most confusing hike I've ever been on! Lol I will say it might be a bit of a challenge for those 70+ (I'm 78), unless you're in shape. There are hills, lots of roots in the paths, no "directions" to find your way, and no seats to rest (except an occasional log). At first I panicked and texted my son where I was in case I got lost in the woods. I soon realized there's little chance of anyone having to send out emergency crews to find me - civilization is often within sight and there are several paths to will lead to them. But it is very confusing. I felt like I was going in circles (I was). You will constantly have to make decisions of going left or right, and sometimes up to a choice of 6 different path choices! I often I found myself saying, "Wait - this looks familiar!" But it's beautiful in there, with small paths leading through the forest, winding it's way over, up and around. I'll try it again! (BTW, I'm adding a map of the paths).

Huge park, Juanita Drive separates this park into sections. I only explored the section off a side road where a residential street has parking a as nd several entrances into the trees and trails. Not many signs to show where you are. Easy to get lost. Trails were small with tree roots and mud after a rain. Quiet and beautiful walk we saw no other people or dogs. Will take a few visits to get to know entire area. No water there and no benches to rest also no signs 🪧 pay attention to where you are going to get back. The busy road hit us back to the car luckily.

Big Fin Hill park is off of Juanita Drive in Kirkland. The park offers well maintained Soccer and Baseball fields and a play area for kids. It has hiking trails that are frequented by mountain bikers, dog walkers and hikers. Kids can have fun at the playground or practice soccer skills on the soccer fields. Just be mindful that parking can fill up quickly during popular events like soccer games and birthday parties. It has a covered picnic shed with tables and benches and convenient restrooms. Great spot for outdoor fun.

Disclaimer: I'm pretty new to mountain biking, so this may be misleading to many riders, but that is what I'm reviewing this park for. It seemed like it was a good park for other reasons, too, but I won't be reviewing those amenities.

In my opinion this park has a lot to offer beginner to intermediate MTBers for being in a populated area, but no black diamonds. I didn't come across any huge jumps, or any wooden man made features besides a couple of bridges, so if that is your thing, there might be better places to ride. However I found the trails and natural features to be fun. Most of the trails are greens, with a couple blues, and I think they are rated correctly in various MTB apps. There are a few cool, flowy places with great turns with berms and quite a few small jumps that I hit that weren't sketchy. Some roots, not many rocks. Everything I rode was rollable, with only a couple things that were on the edge of not being so. It was mostly dry when I went, but I imagine after a rain it gets pretty muddy in places. I saw a lot of more experienced MTBers there on pretty high end bikes on a weekday after work, so I guess this is one of the better parks for this in the area. I do know there is Redmond bike park, and I haven't been there yet so my opinion may change if I go there (probably...

Be careful at this park! I have gone twice now with my dogs. The second time we went, my dog's ball rolled into a toxin that the vet narrowed down to slug bait/speed/meth. He was admitted to the Emergency Vet and had to stay for 12hrs to be monitored. If this went untreated it would have been fatal. Please be careful. My dog was only retrieving the ball the entire time but he still got seriously ill. We were in the field by the jungle gyms, please be careful! If you see your dog trembling uncontrollably take them to the vet immediately!! It started out as just a shiver but quickly progressed into full body...
