Kami Teriyaki — Restaurant in Kirkland

The previous owners were very kind and just retired in 2020 to spend more time with family. :)

The new owners (I think) are a young couple from Korea with their beautiful family pictures up by the register. :)

They have already improved the look of the inside tremendously! They made the menu behind the register MUCH easier to read, tidied up the inside decor, maybe even new paint? The best thing they’ve added is DoorDash! (Previously there wasn’t even an online menu!)

Food is delicious!

They’ve kept the same menu as before. The daily specials are my favorite. I tried the spicy beef bulgogi and it was SO GOOD! I had to eat it in phases because it was pretty spicy for me. But not for my spice-loving hubby! ❤️

I think Door Dash has made them much busier on the weeknights than they expected, so be gracious if they take a little extra time to get the order out to you while they get in the groove of things.

Your food will always be hot...

I got the A-bento box and chicken fried rice both of which were delicious and include a ton of food. The fried rice is the best I’ve had from a casual teriyaki place.

I appreciate the efficiency of the take out order process: call, order, give a name, hang up. Show up, say your name, pay. Done. Not much room for ambiguity.

And—despite not having eaten inside—I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. I can’t exactly say why. It might remind me of casual restaurants in London and Madrid, as you aren’t meant to take a large party or spend the entire evening inside, but is simply clean, cool, and with a place to sit...

My favorite teriyaki. And I eat a lot of teriyaki, so I know what I'm talking about. The service is EXCEPTIONAL. The owners greet my husband and I by name, like members of the family. They are always happy to see us and the food is always delicious. Gyoza? Perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Bulgogi? Exploding with flavor, and customizable to your preferred level of spiciness. Short ribs? Juicy and delicious. And now they do sushi too! This place is a hidden gem...
