the dog park is always clean given the fact its a dog park however there is always this little old lady that I guess is a volunteer and will freak out over every little thing..if your dog uses the bathroom you better been running to the scooper or she will be yelling asking who's dog it belongs to..shes very rude and kills the fun vibe. there are a few dogs there mainly husky that tend to start trouble so other dogs will jump in..when owners seperate them and have to be a little forceful there is a lady in the small dog area that always gets mouthy and starts saying these people are abusing their dogs and will call the cops when in reality the people were being responsible and doing whatever it took to get their big dogs to break it up so no issues happened..its not like these big dog owners can just pick their dogs up like she can so theres people there that think they know it all and acts like its their dog park or something and act entitled. besides people that cause a scene or issues most are very friendly and if their dogs do start stuff after the 2nd time or so they do take them out of the dog area and just take them on a walk instead. some days in can be packed and have no issues and some days there can be 7 dogs there and it be a free for all. most people are understanding that dogs are just all trying to be alpha and so on so its not like you will have a issue with another owner. the surrounding park is very nice and well kept as well and always has something going on. besides the small dog lady that will run her mouth and the volunteer lady its a good park..for them I have to give it 3 stars as poor attitudes like...
Read moreFirst the pros. 3 separate sections(big, medium, small), Dirt play area, water access, places to sit etc. It's overall a nice little park. Not the biggest, but decent.
The reason I liked this dog park was because of the separate sections, but the real issue I have is with the people. No one follows the rules! It's so frustrating. There's literally a section for each size dog and yet people still bring their medium/big dogs into the small dog area. It's not that the dogs are bad, but my 8 month old puppy is just 10 pounds and loves to play with all dogs. When the bigger dogs come into the little one he gets stepped on and rolled over. I'm not trying to pay thousands of dollars at the vet if he breaks his leg! It shouldn't be confusing people. If they're over 30 lbs go to one of the other ones. Every time I go people are bringing big dogs through the gate in the middle which is dangerous incase one of the dogs runs in or out. I've also seen a trend of people bringing dogs that don't like other dogs. Like what's the point of that? I don't understand. There's signs on the gate, but I don't know how we can get people to...
Read moreGreat dog park most of the time! Avoid the middle dog area in the morning.( Go after 0830 after they have left.) There is a group of older ladies and gentleman that attend in the morning with their little dogs that are rude to other dogs/people that aren't part of the morning crowd. My puppy was peeing 5ft from this black and white Chihuahua. This chi prowled closer and started harassing my puppy. When I went to gentlely shoo him away and laughed saying I didn't want my puppy scared of little dogs (he's a collie puppy) the older man said that big dog people had such a chip on their shoulder and that my puppy started it. Color me shocked because everyone saw this little dog go after mine. No one said anything. They just let this older man bully me and my dog. Cowards. We went over to the big dog area and that crowd was so much more welcoming and very attentive of there dogs. I originally didn't want to take him over there since some of the dogs can be more rough than my puppy is use too but I think we'll risk that side more than being picked on by some bitter old...
