Veterans Memorial Park — Attraction in La Vergne

Mothers walking alone with your stroller BE CAREFUL. I had a very scary experience today. I am a new mom and unfortunately won't be going back. I was the only person there and a black suv with completely tinted windows pulled up to a parking spot close to the walkway in the second parking lots in the back. I thought that was very odd as there was a huge parking lot in the front of the park. I continued walking towards them on the path but I noticed nobody was getting out and the vehicle was not turned off which would suggest to me they planned on getting out. The path would have caused me to turn my back to the vehicle and they were parked too close to the walkway for my comfort. I Followed my gut and turned around. When I got back to my vehicle and got my baby inside safely I noticed the black sun driving off..... very strange Activities. If I go again I will probably carry. It...

We started having to go to Smyrna parks because we had concerns for safety.

I hate that because this was so close to our home.

Playground is warn down, not a big variety of play items for children unlike smyrna & Murfreesboro parks.

BUT when there are gatherings going on at the park they are very nice. Such as trick or treating. Baseball games are nice.

Unfortunately 2 other parents & I got ran off one day by a bunch of 16 yr olds half dressed with the ugliest music playing 5 feet from our kids. The girls in swim suits ( fyi, no water at this park ) im very disappointed in this park and wish Mayor Cole would invest into a nicer playground & have a area where the teens can hang as well.

Unfortunately, the park is becoming more like gang gathering place especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Today, September 1st 2016, I noticed suspecious activity in the parking lot and the guys involved kept looking at me when they noticed me walking. Two of them followed me but backed up when I turned and walked straight towards them. Police seems to be uninterested as their presence is slim to none in the park, and that what is making these gangs to move freely in the parking lot...
