I just learned of this park like 6 months ago, and last Tuesday ( I think ) was the first time I'd actually seen dogs, and their owners. Unsure if it was just the timing of events, and my timing of passing by, but until then I was under the impression it was just a park for dogs, kinda like a park that you take kids to. So I ask What exactly goes on and when? All and all my husband and I have 8 dogs but Im really more concerned with bring 2 maybe 3 of them. And would like more information. Out of the possible 3 I'd like to bring 1.) Oscar- Is an American Bully that just turned 1yr old. He has been in the Springfield, Ill. Bully Bash show competition and didn't due well at the time of 10 mos old. He is easily distracted and and honestly tries to bully other dogs ( NO HE IS NOT MEAN, JUST WALLERING LOL ). He has to be front of line so others have to follow. He thinks he has to be center of attention.. Yes he is very spoiled. So I think getting him away from the dogs he is use to and other dogs will help. 2.) Zane- He was also in the Springfield, Ill. Bully Bash show, and he is very skiddish about other people and dogs. I think more socializing would help. 3.) Aisha- She is a beauty but instantly around other dogs her hair stand. She has never bit anyone or other dogs. Just dont understand why her hair always instantly stands. She is playful and lovable with people and dogs. Can someone please send me...
Read moreBy far the most safe and fun dog park we have ever been to. Young kids are not allowed in and I think that is awesome as one dog park we went to did not have this rule and local kids would just show up with no parents and annoy everyone and mess with dogs they had no business being around. Everyone fallows the rules for safety and those with dogs that stir up trouble and fights are asked to move to one of the other 2 lots making your dog always safe. They even have a little dog lot but its not really needed as the little dogs always have fun outmaneuvering the big dogs in the big lots. Tones of run for dogs to run without obstructions. Our dog makes good use of the kiddy pools placed around for doggy use. And they even have a concreted area to wash your dog if he found a mud puddle to splash in! Great Fun. And with your membership you get a key fob that only lets members in so you have no worries wether the other dogs have all their shots or if your taking a big risk...
Read moreNot Traveler Friendly. Costs $$ Found this park online while visiting Layfayette, IN. It is a private park/commercial with electronic gate access only, no option for single use. Go to someplace else if your not a member b/c nobody will open the gate for you or they get kicked out (or so I was told). Place appears to be two re-purposed baseball fields, so it's big. After being excluded I just walked dog around the perimeter. The location is sort of seedy, with railroad tank cars on-site at the Cargill, Inc. chemical plant located there, some dodgy homes and residents adjacent, and heavy bushes on the Wabash River side (don't go very early or very late). Even if I lived in the town I think I'd look carefully at my...
