Stone Lake Beach — Attraction in LaGrange Township

I can not say enough about this little gem. FREE PARKING AND ENTRY!!!!!! We were looking for a place the kids could jump from. I have 3 teenagers now ( 14,13, and 13), so just going to a place that has water doesn't always engage them. We found that here at Stone Lake, there is a little of everything. No matter how many different interests you have in your family or group, this is the place to be. You can swim in the beach area, you could jump off the pier and climb back up all day, you can rent Kayaks, Pedal boats or Paddle boards (when available or operating) you can fish or, if you just want to sit back and watch your family have fun, like me, you can do that too. They also have concessions and picnic areas to sit and eat at. There is also a small ice cream place (The Twirl) right in front so you can get a snack when you're done or go up on the terrace and have lunch even. I will say this place is quite small, which is the reason for 4 stars. This place does get packed, and that can be a MAJOR turn-off for me, at least. Also, one last important thing is worth mentioning. There is NOT a lot of shade and NO chairs, so you will need to bring your own for both. Other than that,...

The beach put in 2021 is amazing and such an addition to Cassopolis!! There's a wheelchair ramp to access the beach/water as well as steps. The walkways are beautiful gray tiles. The pier is long and goes out a good ways out over the water. Lovers have already started putting locks on the railing.

Attention will need to be given to maintenance as there were a couple toys in the non swimming water area/plants which distracts from the appeal...

Finally decided on a trip to spend a beach day at this great spot. Just so happened to be a beach party day. And the live music was incredible. Shout out to Mr. Z and Head Honchos. The family vibe was incredible indeed and the ice-cream superbly chilly. Brainfreeze was to be had by all. I rank this high on the impromptu easy access high reward...
